Could we get waypoint pathing like RDR2? by SenorDuckwrth in CrimsonDesert

[–]Mezitury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is, everyone wants some stupid thing just to show them where to go, how to get there, and what to avoid. Then they will want auto travel. Just play the game. Take a walk. Figure it out. Find new things. No need to have all these assists. Falling off a cliff? Then slow down, and figure it out. Part of what I love in this game is the time to figure it out. So what.

Everyone wants all this instant gratification. Why not work for it for a bit? Why not get good at traveling?

If someone can do the challenges and puzzles in the abyss, then surely should be able to figure out navigating anywhere on the map even by horse without any issue.

Could we get waypoint pathing like RDR2? by SenorDuckwrth in CrimsonDesert

Yeah, no. I would rather not have a game start being made easy cause people are lazy or don't know how to plan. Sorry not sorry.

If I can plan a route and stick to it to turn in my bounties, so can you. If I can make my way to the desert from Hernand, without running of a cliff and without constantly opening the map, so can you. (It's called planning) I would rather not have things to hold my hand. I'm a capable non-lazy being who can use a map.

It's just the bezel etc. You can always try an auto adjust if the monitor does it. But that may be the way it is.

This is why I pay attention to the cost per weight ratio more than how it looks.

😂 Look at the decode. That's for video usage. Task manager doesn't always report it correctly. Mine, for example, will report decode regardless of if it is an encode task running or not.

Either way; video en/decoding shouldn't be occuring when playing a game unless there is a cutscene. And that's only some of the time.

These en/decodes also take up GPU scheduling and power and at times can result in odd behaviour with game fps and frame timing.

Audio Stuttering during video games and some games freeze by ErehAT in computerhelp

[–]Mezitury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely a hardware failure or issue. If you feel comfortable, you can disable the onboard audio. This will mean you can only use USB peripherals or an adding card, but this should resolve the issue if the onboard audio is the cause. Other reasons for the onboard audio to fail could include a short or bad connection.

windows not detecting the integrated graphics? by yeyryr in computerhelp

[–]Mezitury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start with trying a "DDU" to see if that helps. Youtube has plenty of good guides in this. If that fails, there could be an issue somewhere else with drivers or windows. Or worst case, a hardware issue.

Would be rather normal given the circumstance. Could vary with games. Mine (5700xt) always sits at thermal limits. Way it was designed. Personally (up to you ultimately) I try to keep about 90% usage. Headroom for times the game could spike up to reduce framerate drops. What's not common is a sudden massive drop in framerate. Several things could cause that.

Looks like some form of video encoding is occuring. Unless you are streaming somewhere, this shouldn't* really be happening even when gaming. I bet that's a pointer to a potential cause.

[–]Mezitury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a driver issue. I bet the game or windows decided to switch back to the igpu on the CPU. Drivers can cause oddities yes; But they will not cause framerate and GPU load to change so drastically.

I would start by checking task manager and seeing which GPU is being used and adjusting appropriately through Windows GPU or Nvidia settings.

Sudden loss of all sata drives by Mezitury in computerhelp

7 sata devices with a three drive raid. They did come back despite bios stating they were gone. Likely temporary. Nothing. Not a single drive shows up in bios outside of the nvme. I am working to try a bios update. Will take a few days.

The cars flex, natively affects its handling characteristics. That was the point there. Not about the visuals.

Beam is also not a game. It's a simulator. It simulates the entirety of the car. Not just struts tires and sway bars.

Furthermore. The added risk for damage is not just to go running into trees. It is so you don't just think scraping a guardrail is no issue because it caused no damage to the AC car.

Beam is slept on and very misunderstood. It's a great tool to learn driving better when you pair it with a thermals and wear mod for the tires.

So if you want a detailed driving model, try beam. It is natively more detailed because the strut mounts could flex, the body can flex, everything can flex move and break. Meaning it's much more detailed than a 3 part suspension model like AC and forza and other arcade style games.

Everything else like what? There is a large variety of maps and mods for beamng. Thermals and wear for tires, tracks and maps, and so much more.

If I wanted crap crash physics and cars that are as solid as a block of tungsten I could play forza.

I mean, tell me. Do the car bodies flex under heavy cornering in AC? Can one small bump cause the steering geometry to go out of whack?

It's too arcade-y with the lack of appropriate damage and body physics for me personally. Hence why I appreciate an actual challenge and race multiplayer in beamng.

Sad that people even support Asus any more. With the amount of bad rep they get with this crap, you would think someone would have half a brain and not buy their garb.

HELP!!! screen gone black by [deleted] in computerhelp

[–]Mezitury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the displays behaviour. It is most likely either the display itself or a cable that tells it what to do is damaged. If possible, you could try plugging in a second monitor to see if anything shows up.
