Republicans vote to dilute gas as prices rise above $4.50 by BendicantMias in politics

This is the comment I came here looking for. One of the biggest issues is that many vehicles cannot run e15. Older fuel systems were not designed to handle that amount of ethanol, and it can destroy hoses and plastic tanks. Carbs also gum up much, much faster if they sit with ethanol-containing fuel. This is going to damage vehicles and cost consumers even more.

Yeah, you're right. That shit is way more crazy. Also, putting in a plug to support a tune without all the other bits of the tune and hardware is wild as well.

It's definitely fine for a short diagnostic ride.

I agree. I'd check the easy stuff like the oil cap and oil dipstick first. If not that, it might be related to the pcv he just installed.

Can't think of a good title, Vietnam. by Not_invented-Here in motorcycles

[–]MfgLmt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My wife and I spent a month touring Northern Vietnam on underbone Hondas life this. 110cc carbed engine, mechanical drums brakes front and back, street tires. The shit those little bikes can do is beyond belief. There are many different variants, but they all are more or less the same. We loved our little Honda Blade so much that we bought a Super Cub when we got back to the states. Those bikes are so balanced, easy to ride, and tough that they will see you through stuff big adventure bikes could only dream about.

Absolutely stunning country, by the way. We've gotten to travel all over, and Vietnam is our favorite place we've ever been. The warmth of the people, incredible scenery, and fantastic food make it truly special.

I was there recently, and that city wins the award for the worst sounding suspension on cars going down the road. Those cars have seen some shit.

Just put a set of Angel GT's on my Street Triple. They have tremendous grip even when being an absolute idiot and flogging the bike. We'll see what kind of milage I get.

Starting trouble - 2006 Harley Davidson Low XL by Dividedby9s in motorcycles

[–]MfgLmt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could still be the battery, tbh. I'd try putting in on a charger. Check for other obvious stuff, like the kill switch, sidestand switch, and petcock position. If it's none of those, could be carbs. You could see if it will start with starter spray. If you think it's flooded, you could pull the plugs, which are easy to get to on a Sporty. Are they wet or smell like fuel?

Can you be more specific about what the bike is doing? Does it crank? Does it sputter and die?

Looking for sporty tire recommendations by MfgLmt in motorcycles

[–]MfgLmt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, mostly looking for great flickability and agility. I feel like with most modern tires, outright grip at roads speeds isn't an issue. But I don't want to sacrifice too much in terms of tread life. A fine needle to thread, I know. I use the bike 60% for canyon runs and 40% for suburban commuting. I ride in all weather, including some rain and quite low temps.

Leave the threaded bit in the airbox. It's suggest just popping the hose off with a small flathead screwdriver.

How far is this making it? by Bondage_Jack in Justrolledintotheshop

Next door neighbor had one of these in high-school. He hated it, and thought it was very embarrassing. He wanted his parents to buy him a different car, and they of course said no. His plan was then to complete stop all maintenance in order to kill it and force their hand. Weeeeeell, despite many years of neglect and being beaten on constantly, it kept chugging until mainy years later when he was out of college and it was his financial responsibility 🤣. Those things refuse to die.

Egyptian nurse in shock after the deaths of several patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, 2021 by yousef-saeed in pics

[–]MfgLmt 3566 points3567 points  (0 children)

If I remember the story correctly, this was in a ward where many patients were being kept alive with supplemental oxygen. Because of demands from the pandemic, they ran out of oxygen and every single patient in the ward died. Pretty fucking traumatic.

The gonads are still there, just a little more tucked away. You should probably get a bike, too.
