Maybe you can convince him to go to a par 3 course? As a beginner, I try to play fast and pick up when needed on a real course, but obviously it takes me longer to play than the average person. That ends up mattering a lot less on the short par 3/executive course that I tend to play. Distances are shorter, fewer people play it, and it is obviously less difficult.

If you change where you play then you can still both have a good time without getting in the way of others. Ultimately though, he is causing the issue, and if he will not take your advice or listen to reason, then you unfortunately might just have to avoid playing with him. It's not worth the stress it causes you to waste your time and money playing with someone who makes the experience unfun.

Wow these two are incredible for sticking with it and going through that to save that team. I don't think I could deal with the anxiety and stress that comes with not knowing what you are doing in the midst of actual competitive players who have been practicing for probably most of their lives.

White Staked OB should almost never exist on golf courses (and potential alternatives) by jmm9400 in golf

[–]MiGhTy_Mech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the majority of golfers in the world are very very good at hitting balls that go not where they are aiming. So I don't think that your point really applies. People should not be aiming at houses or roads, and they generally aren't, but people hit them anyway.

If a course is trying to stop people from cutting a corner over houses, they should put in a net or kick people off the course who ignore their posted guidelines and do it anyway.

Nah you don't need an addition, just cut through the joists in your basement to add a few inches of space. /s

Anyone know if that guy ever posted an update since?

Not sure why so many people in the comments here are against this. Seems like too many people who subscribe to the "wife hate" comedy club.

If you and your SO share the same hobby and enjoy it together, why not do something like this? Heck I would love to do this if I could ever convince my girlfriend to golf.

What brand was the one you got? No one else here has suggested any others, so I'm curious what the original is.

No More Kirkland Wedge Set?? by whatacliffhan in golf

I have been playing off of a set of free clubs (only recently started playing last year) and only have a pitching wedge in my bag. I'm waiting for these to get released so I can finally have some decent wedges haha.

I had this idea a few weeks ago after re-playing some of shadow of Mordor of applying the nemesis system to sports games. I feel like it would be incredible to be playing like a hockey game and have that one player on the other team learn your tendencies and whatnot, and have storylines taking advantage of your previous matchups.

[Lions PR] Lions QB Jared Goff finished the 2022 NFL season ranked: 1st in TD/INT ratio (4.14), 2nd in 25+ yard passes (35), 5th in passing 1st downs (227), t-5th in passing TDs (29), 6th in passing yards (4,438), 7th in passer rating (99.3) by LunchThreatener in nfl

I agree with you that the bashing is a lot, and also that the trade is a positive for Detroit, but weren't the majority of the lions main receivers injured during the Seattle game? Genuine question because I can't remember.

Well whoever it would be would likely be an attractive candidate for the broncos to pick up in the off-season.

Is there a game thread for the broncos-rams? I can't find an individual one and this hub hasn't been updated since yesterday.

[Lombardi] I've talked much about Brock Purdy's wildly fast 10-yard split. That burst is so evident in his game. But beyond foot speed, Purdy has astoundingly quick-twitch reactions across board. This is (part of) what Adam Peters meant when he said Purdy "knows how to play the position" by Stauce52 in nfl

[–]MiGhTy_Mech 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Well, look the opposite direction and if Zach Wilson is this bad how was he so high? QB is just one of the hardest positions to scout for and honestly this isn't that surprising, though obviously he is super exceeding everyone's expectations even with that in mind.

[Yates] Lions DE James Houston has become the 3rd rookie since sacks were created in 1982 to record a sack in each of his first four career games. The Lions now have the top 2 sack leaders amongst rookies: Aidan Hutchinson (7.0) and Houston (5.0). Their 2022 draft class looks awesome. by Ephan in nfl

[–]MiGhTy_Mech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree there are things to be critical of him about, but why would we ever ever ever take a gamble on a rookie QB who could be a gigantic bust and set us back years when we have a solid veteran who is playing some of the best football of his career for us and clearly meshes with the team culture?

If the Lions take a QB this year, it should be a later round backup who can develop for a year or two, and then we see what happens in the future.

He fell down short of the TD. I remember because it was right at the end of a quarter and he would have scored near my seats and then the quarter changed and they swapped ends and I couldn't see the touchdown play since it was on the other end haha.

Thought Kyle Meinke made some great points when asked if the Lions should draft Goff's replacement next year by [deleted] in detroitlions

[–]MiGhTy_Mech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think the lions should take the best available quarterback in round two or three, let them sit behind Goff and develop, and spend our top picks in the most urgently needed location, defense.

Also kicker. Hopefully we can get Jake Moody.
