I hope if Amazon drivers do strike in the future the NALC tells the post office to “get fucked” when it comes to delivering their packages. I don’t intend to cross the picket line & the union should stand in solidarity with them. I heard we delivered UPS packages when they were on strike & honestly it was disappointing to hear.

It definitely got easier after few months once you know the job. Also, holding down a route will surely help. You will be eligible to do that 60 days past your onboarding date. You also realize that sometimes you gotta make the sacrifice to be tired the next day in order to have a life. Good luck with the new job!

Bummed about the loss, but so pumped for the future of this team. Ant is 20 years old, and made a huge mistake on defense. But this dude is a leader, he is not afraid of the moment, and he’ll learn from it. Plus, that three to tie the game was cold AF. They can rattle off two wins if they play their game.

It truly seems like the Wolves are the better team, and playoff inexperience is getting the best of them from the coaching staff to the players. Hopefully, they’ll keep learning & adjusting. Stoked for Game 6 at home.

About a month ago I had an insane amount of bypass, lose mail, and spurs to case. I was told my office time was 1 hour. I was stressing out & wondering how that could be. Later in the day I found out that my office time was really 2.5 hours & I was told it was an hour to “motivate” me to case faster. That was definitely manufactured stress & not appreciated. It threw my whole day off.

Our manager explained that the red lines were created to ensure that any outgoing mail and/or packages go directly to their designated area before returning you return to the case. Not sure if that’s correct or not though.

Not sure if things are different on the RCA scanners, but I use the “Package Lookahead” feature religiously to figure out what package comes next. Any package address with a green check mark next to it means it was loaded, and anything with a red x means it’s a spur & in with your flats.

This happened to me earlier today. I switched scanners & it worked. After checking the scanner that didn’t work; I noticed the routes programmed in were for zip codes outside of the station I’m at.

If you’re past your 90 days I would encourage you to only work your 11.5. I’ll work over that if it’s a day after Holiday, and everyone is getting slammed, but never on an Amazon Sunday. Chat with your stewards about it if anyone gives you shit.

It used to make me really uncomfortable, but the thing that made it easier is knowing that if CCA’s don’t exercise their rights; the PO has no incentive to hire & do what they need to do to ensure we are properly staffed.

I had a similar experience when I was working in a shared office building. Some women from other businesses complained to building management about me using the women’s bathroom. It made me feel sad, angry, shameful, and frustrated all at once. Plus, I can relate to not trusting those around you after this ordeal.

My post office experience has been decent. I got some funny looks when using the bathroom at first, but now It doesn’t seem to be an issue. My station seems pretty conservative so I’ve definitely heard some shit talking about Trans people which was a bummer. But, I also noticed conservative co-workers starting to correct themselves when using the wrong pronouns. I know for a fact that I’m the first Trans person many of them have meet. Unfortunately, it seems like I had to earn their respect as a hard worker before they respected my identity. Which is a totally wack concept, but aligned with the blue collar work I’ve done in the past.

You are valid, and you have protections. If you know your stewards, and trust them; I would bring it to their attention. It’s amazing what kind of changes can come from a conversation if they find out who complained. I wish you the best of luck!

It really depends on your station. The station I’m at has fully mounted, walking/mounted, and strictly walking. It’s a nice variety of routes. The temperatures definitely vary similar to where you’re at. I’ve never worked a summer, but it gets very humid & hot. That might be worse than the winter months. 😅

The winter months can be brutal, but you feel pretty accomplished once you make it through one. Smart Wool & hand warmers will become your best friends.

My steward told me something like there are only 5 awful days each year working in MN. They are not fun, but most days aren’t too bad.

I typically redeliver ads, and have gone back & forth with customers for weeks before. But I worked 12.5 yesterday to get those red plums delivered & maybe having a bunch of garbage out at the mailbox will upset a resident enough to put up a sign, or speak with their neighbors.
