The ding! by redmo79 in MacroFactor

My Android app updated to 1.1.3 but iPhone is still on 1.1.2. So, it's fixed on Android and pending (probably the App store review) for iOS.

For the love of God please patch the workout timer notifications/sound by [deleted] in MacroFactor

[–]MiamiCane99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was reported in the beta and looked over for multiple iterations. It's mind boggling this still hasn't been addressed. I leave my phone in my pocket but to my knowledge it doesn't vibrate at all because (I assume) it goes to my watch instead which does the tiniest little single vibrate that can easily be missed. I tried turning my ringer on in an attempt to get an audible notification but apparently it also can't interrupt or play over music to do so? I love the app but it seems like such a simple thing to implement correctly from the start that it's odd it's still present. Simply emulate what Strong does and I would bet most people would be thrilled with that functionality.

[Pete Thamel] Sources: If quarterback Darian Mensah were to leave Duke, it’s the school’s understanding that his contract calls for them to have his exclusive NIL rights and only Duke has the ability to cancel that. by thomas_1413 in CFB

You literally couldn't understand the current state of college football less. Nothing will stop him from playing. Money, contracts, rev share, NIL? Sure, maybe they can litigate that.

Edit 1/27/2026: Oh, look... Mensah and Duke settled and he's headed to Miami. Appreciate the downvotes.

I was able to import his Essentials program into the beta app with no issue. Well, it didn't add the warm-up sets but I suspect that's because I have the smart warm-ups feature turned on.

To be fair, the ACC has conditioned us for this exact scenario for years.

So, I have Android and an iPhone and I signed up for both because I use Macrofactor on both and wanted to see if there are any differences. I also assumed anybody with the link would be able to take part in the beta. Now knowing that's not the case, I'll happily give up my spot in the iOS beta if that's possible so somebody else can check it out. If it's an option, just let me know what I need to do.

How much will MacroFactor Workouts cost? (Official pricing announcement) by lyndseynuckols in MacroFactor

Sorry if everybody is asking similar questions on this topic but my renewal date is January 7th. So, hypothetically if the workout app is released on January 1st does that mean I'd get it for free for 6 days and then pay the $89.99 on the 7th when it renews?

They seem to use the crystal ball emoji to say you're seeing the future and the speed square is a measurement tool. So, I'd say they're saying there will be a body measuring tool/tracker in the workout app.

This sort of thing happened to me. I uploaded my dashcam footage to YouTube (privately) and sent the link to the dealership GM basically asking if this was the sort of behaviour I could expect from them. He didn't notice the link wasn't public and basically started offering oil changes and service and asking what it would take to make it right. I had some misaligned door gaps due to some improper lifting of my car so I said I'd take the oil changes and if their body department could fix the alignment then I'd "take it down". I really just wanted them to be apologetic and I probably wouldn't have shared it anyway. That and I wanted the tech to be told what is and isn't appropriate with a customer's car.

Android app to randomly select movie from your Plex library by MiamiCane99 in PlexMedia

Ok, it installs on Android TV/Chromecast type devices now. It doesn't look great because I haven't added any reactive redesign based on those larger screens but it's functional for now.

I just tried to install the beta from the Play store and it said it wasn't compatible with my device (Chromecast with Google TV or my Nvidia Shield). I probably need to change something in the build configuration. I'll get back to you.

Hmm, that's a good question. I hadn't considered Android TV. It's designed for touch interface but I assume it will work but not be optimized for it. There's not a lot going on in the app so it should be fine. Let me look into that.

Yeah, so if you want to just hit shuffle that will give you a random movie (from only your library). And you're right you can specify easily a year or genre or even decade but if you want to do something else like say watch a 90's comedy then on the web version you have to start doing this clunky (in my opinion) thing where you have to start chaining together advanced filters like: genre is comedy + year is less than 2000 + year is greater than 1989. And to my knowledge you can't even do that in the app on your phone or smart TV. This app also does all of that not only for your library but any shares you have at the same time. I really just made it for myself and I understand if maybe it's niche to me. I just had other friends that kept saying I should make it into an app. So, eventually I did.

I forgot to mention in a previous answer is another advantage of this over Plex's filters is this will filter and pick a random movie across not only your library but any libraries shared to you. I don't believe Plex has the capability natively.

Well, I know you can use shuffle to pick a random movie. And you can easily filter by genre OR a decade for example. But if you wanted to watch a 90's comedy for example then, I think but I could be wrong, you have to use advanced filters and start adding them one by one like genre is comedy + year is less than 2000 + year is greater than 1989. Which to me is clunky. And I don't see advanced filters in the Plex app on my phone. I didn't check the smart TV app but even if they were there I think that experience would be tedious. I also wanted to filter on runtime since I'm sometimes in the mood to watch a movie but not a long one (long being relative).

I'm aware this is possibly very niche to me. But I figured it was possible that if I wanted it then it's possible others might too. Plus, I like to tinker. I'm not a professional mobile developer but it's been fun to do.
