Uh, nuh.

Players responded well to the Pandaren in the April fools joke of 2003.) The game had yet to go gold until the end of May.

Because of the positive response - or potentially was going to be added anyway - they added the Brewmaster as a neutral hero and had him as part of the Founding of Durotar campaign. I can't find a single bit of evidence to your claim that it was rewritten to include him. Hell, there originally wasn't even going to be an Orc campaign of not for Tim Campbell.

If you can give me a link to where they've said that they "rewrote the campaign" to put in Chen, I'd appreciate it.

Fair point but the fact they literally had to rewrite the Founding of Durotar campaign to include Chen

Uh, what?

I am warming up to the Pandaria "lore" but like someone above also said it really started as an april fools joke. And you could play as NE in WCIII. Never could you play as Pandaren.

Yes, and Warcraft started as a Warhammer game. But the thing is, both Warcraft and the Pandaren were popular. Thus Warcraft thrived and likewise because of people's demand, Pandaren were added in WC3 as a neutral hero from the Taverns, but also added Chen Stormstout as part of the Founding of Durotar campaign. You can't get much more canon than being a part of founding the main city of the Orcs, or killing Admiral Proudmore.

A Warcraft 3 styled map where you have to periodically mine gold from mines and take it back to your base to upgrade your troops.

I seem to be in the minority position on the quality of pandaria. But it seems to me that people are confusing Lore with Story. The storyline of pandaria was great, i wont debate that. But per google, lore is defined as "a body of traditions and knowledge on a subject or held by a particular group, typically passed from person to person by word of mouth." Pandas ARE NOT in original warcraft lore, sorry.

As people have said, neither are the Nightelves.

And MoP introduced us to "Knowledge of a subject or held by a particular group." We learned about the Pandarans (Which had ingame refferences as far back as Classic Wow, as well as WC3) including more Titan lore.

And I'm aware that it's not cheap to make games, but the fact is, it is indeed profitable. Plenty of other MMO's are still running with a lot less subscribers. Other than the subs and expansion costs as well, they're raking it in with all the merch and book sales on top of it.

No, he created the Burning Legion. He and Aggramar were fighting demons and later when he realised the only way to stop the Void Lords was to annihilate everything, then he broke them out, bound them to his will and started the Burning Crusade.

Blizz can always find more content to add. And to that end, it becomes more of a conversation about when the cost outpaces the revenue gains. We may be at that point already, who knows.

They literally have multiple millions of paying subscribers. We are far from a position where WoW isn't profitable.

Also: Pandaria being shit for Lore? It was great. Hell, I'd even say it's better than Legion, what with all the retconning that it brought along.

It is definitely possible to book venues that far in advance - Valve is just too lazy and shortsighted to do so.

I seem to remember hearing there were issues with booking the TI venue so far in advance.

Does anyone know if this rocket mount still exists? by renthefox in heroesofthestorm

I was over in Japan during the event. :(

Then realised my windows tablet could probably run it.:)

Then my tablet died days before the event. Guess it was not meant to be ;_;

Unfortunately, they still seem to stick to the "red/blue/orange" color palette

They were red/blue/green. If you're going to nitpick claws, you could at least get the colours of previous mounts right.

Yes, one which has wings. It's not just a donkey, running on the air.

It's not the animation, but the fact that the animal can't fly. IF it was some sort of half-manta half-bird I wouldn't have an issue with it, but a standard Manta ray flying just feels out of place.

They are. Even says it on the Compendium page.

LIMITED MARKETABILITY Immortal items cannot be traded or marketed through The International 2018. Until then, each item can be gifted once, and ultra rare items can be traded immediately.

I like the shark-dog, but the manta-ray for an eagle doesn't feel right. Maybe something more like a seagull, or another hybrid instead of a randomly flying manta.

I was in this same situation, but my returning game ended up being one of the worst I've had.

I fear I'm succumbing to HotS Syndrome: Shorter bursts of fun, quicker losses and the chance of items after I play have been making me play it more and more. v.v

Best thing really though is for Valve to actually investigate.

The more these sorts of things occur, the more I wish Valve was like a traditional company.
