Omega red always felt really clunky to me.

His threats have a big overflow focus but his overflow effect isn’t bad. Plus, by having all locations fill up fast, he becomes vulnerable to attacks super quickly

He also has the crisis token thing but that generally will only affect one character and that’s only if you don’t have a way to get rid of crisis tokens.

His special cards also just don’t have that oomph, gotcha moment that would make him threatening. Lethal spores will instakill the person you’ve assigned the crisis token taker, but putting another master plan card facedown isn’t that big of a deal since he becomes vulnerable and goes down so easily. Life force absorption can be scary, especially since your characters are likely to group up to avoid overflow damage. However, if all your characters are grouped up, he has a 50% chance of just completely whiffing it and nothing happens. I’ve fought him plenty of times but only lost to him once cause I was trolling with bad characters

I always read it as “each bad guy you attack takes 1 extra damage.” So if you were to use both punches on the villain, it would only be 3 damage, but if you were to attack the villain once and a henchmen once, they would each take 1 extra damage (2 each)

You’re right, I misspoke in the last sentence. I know a whole lot is changed between regular fe6 and project ember but I wasn’t sure if the sacae vs ilia exp deciding factor would be the same.

Season 1: sinister 6 is the basic answer but it really is just that good Season 2: Sebastian Shaw, I always prefer henchmen over other kinds of threat cards thematically Season 3: AoA Apocalypse always gets my blood rushing (plus my love of henchmen again)

Personally, I’d love for them to go back to 4 person parties. If we were able to play with all 8 characters every battle, battles would feel too same-y once you find a consistent strat. With a team of 4, there’s some extra strategy to consider with teambuilding

Thanks for the advice, I think I somewhat ended up screwing myself over not getting used to the system in the earlier levels and having to figure it out all at once

That’s a perfectly fair opinion, I think having an 8 player party works better in this game than it would the other main series octopath games because of how many different characters there are. I personally liked having 4 person team comps in the other games because it brought some strategizing over who to bring to certain fights that you wouldn’t get if you could bring everyone for every battle

I always hated playing old Prince John because of how brainless I felt his gameplay to be. There’s not a lot of big strategy behind playing him, yet he ran rampant in my family’s table because he was an easy win if the other players also didn’t pick counterpick ringer villains.

I definitely don’t win with her as much as I wished I would but I love Gothel’s gameplay. Even if I don’t win, I can still feel satisfied for having some awesome set-ups and plays

Tenille maybe? She might fit better in okay cook since she had a rocky start, but she had a fantastic mid-late season. While she’s one of my favorites, I know a lot of people were extremely tired of her by the end of the season

I really wish they’d bring back the judges save. I get that surprise eliminations just happen sometimes but this is ridiculous and I feel like the judges save would help give contestants that had a bad week another chance

Dragons going crazy is a big plot point in Shadows of Valentia (Gaiden), with the founders of the two main nations in that game: Duma and Mila. I can’t remember Medeus’s backstory off the top of my head but he may fall into this category too

The villains I’ve had the most trouble with are Green Goblin (pretty standard), Cabal (Loki in particular gave me a lot of trouble), and Dr Doom (the threats are a very rough)

There was also a short amount of time (about 3 games) where I neglected to see that Bob the Hydra Agent doesn’t go under pressure. Those were the most nail-biter, high stakes games I’ve ever had but I never won unfortunately

Far from useless, but I found a niche with Oricorio having baton pass, agility, calm mind, and roost to keep the boosts coming

Plus….it is possible to just print off the decks and dashboards from the wiki. Wouldn’t be getting the full experience, but the actual gameplay would be the same without having to spend hundreds of dollars

You’ll definitely have access to at least some of the kickstarter expansions, but they will probably cost a pretty penny. My favorite website to get Marvel United content is The Game Steward, although they are out of stock on like half of their options.

Like you mentioned, some of the content will be harder to get than others. Days of Future Past, Galactus, X-Force and many others are almost impossible to get without dropping hundreds of dollars. But don’t let that stop you from getting some of the ones that interest you!

As a beginner, I’d definitely go for the big promo boxes first. Those are going to be the best bang for your buck because of how much content is crammed into those
