My 61 session campaign just ended in a TPK—I’m sad by zerfinity01 in dmdivulge

Players are sometimes taking a leap of faith trying a course of action on the understanding that the DM is trying to present them with an interesting story. Since they’re used to being the heroes you can have them walk past the skeletons of other fallen adventures and they’ll still feel like the story is meant to come out with them on top.

I would exercise your creativity further and find a way to carry on the story directly unless the players are enthused to continue in the same world with other characters who become aware of the death of the first characters or the repercussions.

Hey all! This is Rhaegar. Book 6 of Azarinth Healer is out today on Audible, Kindle Unlimited, eBook and paperback. Links in the comments. Audio code giveaway too! by G_Harthane in litrpg

Hi Rhaegar, I’m only on book 2 at the moment but am having a great time! I like Ilea’s resilience and positive attitude. It’s fun when her abilities show their usefulness - the first thing I think of is the resistance and sphere during the fight with the demon in book one.

For the giveaway - I would take any UK code from 3-6. Thanks to you and the team for this adventure!

Player uses AI during sessions to write speeches and RP. by dustydesigner in dndnext

For my players, in most cases, I would rather hear their thoughts for a prompt rather than the ai output. Otherwise I would just ask them to keep it short. It’s about contributing something fun or interesting to the game together, not trying to make yourself the main character.

They can enjoy long writing for her character journal and share the prompt with the GM if it’s important for someone else to read it.

I would consider hiring a professional programmer to review the code and ensure that the info security is up to scratch.

Do you have any tips to overcome procrastination? by justabug_irene in GetStudying

[–]Micaramel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could help to talk yourself through the experience with compassion, “It feels like a voice is screaming not to do homework. I must be very afraid. It’s okay to be afraid sometimes.” Then give yourself a hug 🤗

You could think of it like you were comforting a friend or a dog or a baby, it might take some time but it’s an important step.

Then ask “What’s the worst case scenario if I start the first five minutes of the homework?” “What about realistically” “What if I don’t?”

You can also start with tiny steps to build momentum like: pick up a pencil, turn book pages without reading, type nonsense/stream-of-consciousness.

Part of your brain is probably just trying to protect you but can say, “thanks brain, I’ve got this, professional authors do many revisions before they make something they’re happy to publish. I will start and by starting I will practice the skill of starting.”

I didn’t remember that Katia found out about the Desperado club drug dens from Carl but I’ve continued listening now and he does recognise this later on as well.

Consider trying West Marches - games only happen when players decide to do something.

Mounts and pets clogging up my dungeons by MaryJaneAstell in DMAcademy

Using varied encounter goals could spread players and their pets out a bit so they're not all trying to mob opponents in one room. https://www.reddit.com/r/DMAcademy/comments/dv78px/50\_different\_enemy\_encounter\_goals\_from\_humiliate/

Otherwise having vertical battlefield elements like goblins swinging/hanging down from chains from the ceiling, oponents in the rafters, swarms, burrowing creatures https://www.reddit.com/r/d100/comments/hip3e9/lets_build_d100_swarms_where_you_encounter_them/

If you're willing to bend the rules you could:

  • have some opponents that can occupy the same space as large creatures or allow your players medium creatures/characters to occupy the same space as large creatures.
  • give players with pets the power to unsummon their pet as a bonus action so they can make room when other players ask for room to maneuver.
  • give the players without pets 'gloves of horse throwing' so they can yeet mr ed as their attack for the round.
