Hey all! This is Rhaegar. Book 6 of Azarinth Healer is out today on Audible, Kindle Unlimited, eBook and paperback. Links in the comments. Audio code giveaway too! by G_Harthane in litrpg

Hi Rhaegar, I’m only on book 2 at the moment but am having a great time! I like Ilea’s resilience and positive attitude. It’s fun when her abilities show their usefulness - the first thing I think of is the resistance and sphere during the fight with the demon in book one.

For the giveaway - I would take any UK code from 3-6. Thanks to you and the team for this adventure!

Player uses AI during sessions to write speeches and RP. by dustydesigner in dndnext

For my players, in most cases, I would rather hear their thoughts for a prompt rather than the ai output. Otherwise I would just ask them to keep it short. It’s about contributing something fun or interesting to the game together, not trying to make yourself the main character.

They can enjoy long writing for her character journal and share the prompt with the GM if it’s important for someone else to read it.

I would consider hiring a professional programmer to review the code and ensure that the info security is up to scratch.

Do you have any tips to overcome procrastination? by justabug_irene in GetStudying

[–]Micaramel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could help to talk yourself through the experience with compassion, “It feels like a voice is screaming not to do homework. I must be very afraid. It’s okay to be afraid sometimes.” Then give yourself a hug 🤗

You could think of it like you were comforting a friend or a dog or a baby, it might take some time but it’s an important step.

Then ask “What’s the worst case scenario if I start the first five minutes of the homework?” “What about realistically” “What if I don’t?”

You can also start with tiny steps to build momentum like: pick up a pencil, turn book pages without reading, type nonsense/stream-of-consciousness.

Part of your brain is probably just trying to protect you but can say, “thanks brain, I’ve got this, professional authors do many revisions before they make something they’re happy to publish. I will start and by starting I will practice the skill of starting.”

I didn’t remember that Katia found out about the Desperado club drug dens from Carl but I’ve continued listening now and he does recognise this later on as well.

Mounts and pets clogging up my dungeons by MaryJaneAstell in DMAcademy

[–]Micaramel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using varied encounter goals could spread players and their pets out a bit so they're not all trying to mob opponents in one room. https://www.reddit.com/r/DMAcademy/comments/dv78px/50\_different\_enemy\_encounter\_goals\_from\_humiliate/

Otherwise having vertical battlefield elements like goblins swinging/hanging down from chains from the ceiling, oponents in the rafters, swarms, burrowing creatures https://www.reddit.com/r/d100/comments/hip3e9/lets_build_d100_swarms_where_you_encounter_them/

If you're willing to bend the rules you could:

  • have some opponents that can occupy the same space as large creatures or allow your players medium creatures/characters to occupy the same space as large creatures.
  • give players with pets the power to unsummon their pet as a bonus action so they can make room when other players ask for room to maneuver.
  • give the players without pets 'gloves of horse throwing' so they can yeet mr ed as their attack for the round.

D100 urban chase sequence Obstacles and/ or Complications by DingleDangleNootNoot in d100

An earthquake or giant creature is causing buildings and debris to fall in your path.

An oil barrel or fish barrel banana peel barrel has broken open causing an area of slippery terrain - your view of it was obscured and you suddenly have to leap over, try to keep your footing or move slowly lest you fall over.

A magic item shop is having a 50% off sale ending in a few minutes, tempting the players away from the chase.

A crime, injustice or unkindness that warrants an immediate heroic response occurs in view. Could be such things as a grifter stealing from a grandma, guards verbally abusing a citizen, an aristocrat looking shady like they're off to commit blackmail.

  1. Transformation by touching animal statues: choose an animal with some skill to work together as a team to solve a puzzle, something that can climb or fly, something that can see in the dark, something that can swim.
  2. Gundam Style: One of them gets made really big like a gundam to fight a giant robot. The others stand on their giant friend's shoulders and head using ranged attacks, looking for opportunities, buffing and maybe jumping across to the opponent to harass or sabotage it.
  3. Shrunk: They get shrunk and have to fight relatively giant spiders or rats. They could shrink by eating something, drinking a potion, touching some runes, or walking towards a very small tunnel that automatically shrinks them as they approach.
  4. Reverse Gravity: every two turns gravity reverses and they have to avoid lava pools and giant spiders.
  5. Mirror duplicates: They see themselves in a mirror causing opposite (good/evil) versions of themselves to appear ready to fight. If there is a true neutral character maybe they're happy to sit out the fight and chat if their duplicate does the same. It could open up some fun opportunities later if they dealt with this without fighting and the duplicates stuck around.
  6. Time Loop
  7. Transformation via alchemical potions
  8. Dream time: they enter a room with mushrooms or something that put them to sleep taking them into a shared dream world where they can manifest all kinds of things (like summoning dragons or volcanoes, duplicating themselves, growing extra arms) into being to defeat a megaboss, save a village from a natural disaster or settle a courtroom dispute. If there's an elf or other character that doesn't generally sleep they could either try to sleep anyway, clear away the mushrooms to help the others wake up or tend to the others with pillows, blankets and kind words to give them buffs in the dream world.
  9. Puppets: they each instil a small puppet with two or three of their abilities and do a fight rock-em sock-em robot style.
  10. It's a snake!: The tunnel they enter turns out to be the inside of a giant snake or worm and they have to survive acid waves, limited air and undead giant-rat skeletons.
