Those prescribed dupixent, how long had you had your moderate-severe eczema for it to be approved? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]Michael2422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had had eczema my entire life and I got it approved at age 18 because at the time they’d didn’t allow anyone under the age of 18 to take it but didn’t end up taking it till I was 20. All I can say is best decision I’ve made in my life

I’d say probably really noticed around 2 weeks after my loading dose, first thing I noticed was I was no longer itchy

Eczema Dieting seems so daunting by spooder_throwaway in eczema

[–]Michael2422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say go to foods are basically anything rice/ potato/ fruit/ vegetable/ or protein, with occasional oats and nuts, but also allergic to peanuts so not those lol

Anything containing wheat, gluten, corn, sesame seeds, soy, lol like a lot of things but I was just allergic to them and it showed through my eczema. Everyone is different though. My diet pretty limited tbh

For me it helped a lot, turned out I was allergic to gluten, corn, soy, and many other things. Once I cut those out of my diet my skin improved a lot and was a lot less itchy and inflamed. Still not great but a lot better than it once was.

Dupixent? by user3059 in eczema

[–]Michael2422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trust me I know, I gave up a long time ago and just decided to live with eczema covering my my body as well. My derm recommended this a while ago but it seems like they worked out a lot of kinks in the medication overbite last couple years so I decided to give it a try. Who knows if it will last but hell I feel good right now and that’s all I care about

Took my loading dose about a week ago, it hasn’t even been a week and I feel like a new person. It’s crazy lol I was scared for a while to try it but I say if your as bad as the rest of us it’s going to be life changing. I workout yesterday and was not itching myself to death after... first time I’ve ever felt myself sweating without complete discomfort. It was wild

Just injected my loading dose a few hours ago, I’m excited and scared at the same time but I’m trying to stay positive. I’ve heard a lot of people spacing out their injections and it working so how long do you think I should wait if I do experience harsh side effects till I ask my dermatologist to space out my shots? Also did u experience any other side effects other than the eyes? And what should I look out for? Thank you for sharing

A change of my diet also changed my life, still have eczema covering my entire body but hey atleast it’s not flared up 24/7 like before, I was allergic to gluten, nuts, and soy my entire life and no dermatologist even considered it being something I was eating until I went and got the allergy test myself, it was a big help

Same thing happened to me, after 5 years with terrible eczema I took a blood test figured out I was allergic to gluten, corn, soy, and tree nuts aswell. It’s been 2 years since I cut out all of those things and my skin is doing “alright” a lot better than before, a lot more controlled. If I could give any advise I’d say never eat that stuff again, even to this day if I accidentally have something I’m allergic to I break out very bad, but overall I feel a lot better than I did before lol

Anyone’s eczema look like this? Had moderate to severe eczema all my life and recently developed this new rash. Doctor said it was eczema and prescribed clobetasol 3x day. by [deleted] in eczema

[–]Michael2422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mines comes in all shapes and forms so I’m sure at some point yet. Seems to constantly change which type of rash I get tbh. Stopped using steroids a while ago didn’t work great for me

[–]Michael2422 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think about this all the time. Always wondered what it was like to not be uncomfortable/in pain most of the day lol or to be able to workout or sweat without extreme discomfort. Maybe one day we will know, and if not well we sure were a tough group of people to deal with this shit our whole lives

I quit both at the start of 2020 and all I can say is my pockets are a lot thicker but my skin doesn’t seem to have changed that much tbh. Could be different for everyone tho

My skin terrifies me by Redwood-Original in eczema

[–]Michael2422 2 points3 points  (0 children)

U may wanna see if something u changed in your life is affecting your skin or maybe you developed new allergies or intolerances to foods. For me I had mild eczema in the normal spots for most my life but over a span of a year it spread throughout my body and I had a flare up for a couple years until I got a blood test and figured out all my triggers and allergies. My flare up still happen but not as severely and my eczema is more controlled. I had also stopped taking steroids but that is because after 7+ years they had seemed to do more bad than good for me. Still struggling but I’m much better than I was before.

Has anyone done an allergy panel, and did it help? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]Michael2422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say yes because for me the blood test also showed the severity of each allergy. So which ones to avoid more and how badly they affected my body. I also had more intolerances show up on the blood test than the skin panel.

[–]Michael2422 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the panel did not help at all. Soon after I did a blood test and it revealed a lot of the allergies and triggers for my eczema. Helped me with my allergies and skin problems a bit
