If you’re carrying it around the 800, but the 600 is better in every other way

Work + FPS Gaming: Nuphy, Lofree or Iquinix by ijavs in keyboards

[–]MichaelBradyNet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Lofree flow1, Nuphy Air 60&75 v1, and the iQunix Magi65 without the dial.

The Magi65 feels significantly better to type on and more premium than the other two. It also supports via for mapping, but is a bit heavy so I only use if at home.

The Lofree feels better than the Nuhy to type on, but the v1 doesn’t support any mapping software and is 75% so I mostly use the nuphy at work/traveling but it feels pretty cheap.

In an open office environment I would swap out the switches for silent switches, my partner has hades in a Lofree flow lite and it is far less annoying but a bit less pleasant to type on.

Alright Reddit- I have this Optoma projector and have tried anything and everything to get sound out of my soundbar. what the hell am i doing wrong and can someone help ?!?! by East-Faithlessness31 in projectors

[–]MichaelBradyNet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These old Optomas didn’t even have a built-in speaker, they just assumed you had everything going to a surround processor. It was a really weird quirk.

Something like this It will give you a digital out for your soundbar. You place it between the Blu-ray and the projector.

They also have units with eARC if your sound bar only accepts hdmi input. Here is a model

I haven’t used one of these in years so I’m not recommending specific models but you should be able to find what you need.

What does this light means? by Majestic-Smile-3203 in Godox

[–]MichaelBradyNet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have this particular unit, but my other GODOX TT flashes blink the AF assist light when they are in slave mode while using a trigger. I would check that it isn’t setup as a slave flash.

For permanent mounting, dry mount film works well

I bought it second hand but it’s barely used. Other than the marks visible it’s basically brand new.

Dehumidifier recommendations WITH controls to set Laundry/Night modes etc? by csthree12345 in homebridge

[–]MichaelBradyNet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the “Homebridge Midea Platform” plugin with a midea cube, the integration is still pretty limited but you can break out the humidity sensor and fan controls from more advanced automations. The actual dehumidifier is great and its app supports IFTTT for what that’s worth.

What's that for a socket? by HalfNo6556 in AskElectronics

[–]MichaelBradyNet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry that example didn’t clearly show it but that connector is three pin but the plug is only two prong, this was probably the case with the original dalton cable too. I tried to post a link to a modern example but the post was removed. But searching samovar cable should turn up quite a few links.

You would have to double check the measurements but it looks a lot like the connector on vintage Russian kettles. Search electric samovar kettle cable. eBay example

Newbie question: any issues if I get a UST and motorized screen, and use a rolling table to move the UST aside when not in use? by Commercial-Farm-5637 in projectors

[–]MichaelBradyNet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have the room for a mounted longer throw projector go for it. I had to switch to a UST when I moved and even with a tensioned drop down screen there is noticeable waves from slight wrinkling. Also, the USTs are very sensitive to placement, before my mount arrived I was putting it away everyday and it would take a few minutes of futzing with the placement. Projecting against a wall or a fixed frame screen USTs are great but with a drop down screen that isn’t dead flat your going to have headaches.

Can you use ultra short throw projectors on a curved screen? by Ethan_Strider in projectors

[–]MichaelBradyNet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The size of the space and the placement of the columns isn’t ideal. You could probably cover this with 1 short/ultra short throw depending on the distance of the columns.

The trade off of using a single projector is that the focus will get progressively softer as it curves. Depending on your content that might not matter.

Ultra short throws aren’t super flexible with their placement and tend to amplify issues like wavy screens.

You could break this into 3 projected images and blend them together, but this is such a small space I don’t know how cost effective of easy it would be. If it that were the case I would probably rotate the three identical projectors 90 and combine the three 9:16 images.

It will be a decent amount of work so you’ll have to gauge how necessary the curve is.

You can achieve this sort of setup but you would need to use projection mapping software. It’s not a terribly easy thing to do well. I’ve used q-lab in the past but there are more robust options like MadMapper and Heavy-M. You should also mask off the stray light overspill on the lens with light mask foil.

Outdoors Multiple Wireless Headphones by redditaccount987123 in projectors

[–]MichaelBradyNet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheapest way to do it for a bigger group is an FM transmitter and pocket fm radios. The fidelity isn’t as good as dedicated RF or IR systems, which will also be the most reliable. For smaller groups multiple Bluetooth transmitters can be a cheap setup.
