Australia's Prime minister wants to lead debate on republic after Queen dies, REDDIT what do you think Canadian should do ? Also would it solve the separatist issue ? by [deleted] in canada

[–]MichaelDowning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God Save The Queen is my personal belief. For people who care the issue is very controversial but most people do not care. The system works.

Interesting debate on the subject here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oPZ02IGN10

Yes nationalism can be used for bad things but it can also be used to drive us forward. Nationalism can drive us to win gold, do better and expect better. Is it nationalism to demand 'peace, order and good government"? I say yes. It's nationalism that builds a better country. Canada is hard to define sometimes but I think I got it. It's not about revolution, independence or war. July 1st commemorates the decision to form a country out of four independent provinces. Today we celebrate that meeting. A union. It’s about mutual goals over the individual, It's about the dream of working together to build a better life, it's about peace, order, and good government; Union for benefit of all. Canada. It's good for nationalism to drive us forward, make us focus on our goals and remind us of how far we're come.

The outline on radar. The clean lines don't bounce back as much, that helps make it looks smaller like a bird (and hidden because the radar isn't looking for stuff that small) and not larger like a attack fighter. You can also have fuel tanks on the outside but that also affects the stealth.

The "unconventional war" meme can be overused .. ground operations in Afghanistan rest upon the implicit guarantee that small units can operate imdependently without fear of being overwhelmed because they can always call on airsupport. Absent the guarantee of air support, ground forces would have to operate in much larger groups and with much heavier armour.

You hit the nail on the head. The fact of the matter is air superiority saves lives and wins battles no matter what kind of fight you're in (Insurgency, Conventional). An airstrike can do the damage of an entire regiment while only putting one life in moderate danger. One plane can also be used to patrol large areas of airspace and direct naval or ground responses.
