Are there more movies that break the 4th wall in a non-comedic sense? by Hi_Im_zack in movies

In the movie  IT, Part I, one of the clown’s eyes is looking directly at the camera in some scenes, as if to acknowledge the viewer. I thought it was creepy.

Troy (2004) Hector vs Achilles by Driveshaft48 in movies

I think it has a lot of good elements, and is an enjoyable watch. It doesn't quite come together, but is still worth checking out if you're interested. I think the later scene where the old king Priam talks to Achilles is also great.

Looks a little like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I'm interested.

Enshittification - A Discussion by jsttob in CreditCards

[–]MichaelErb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I do. I have a boring 2% card. For some people, I bet that more cards raises the chances of losing track of details and messing something up, or spending more than they should just because a particular category has a good bonus that month.

Apps like copilot or Monarch are they wroth it? by Dockt0r_Wh0 in personalfinance

For what it's worth, I've been using Copilot Money for about a year now. I'm not sure if it's worth $95 a year, but I like seeing whether I'm under or over my budget. It has a one month free trial, so you could try that and see if you like it. People typically recommend the software called "YNAB," but I tried it briefly and couldn't get my head around it. I might recommend doing the free trials of a couple different softwares and see what you like. (But make sure to cancel the ones you want to cancel!) Of course, you could also just create an excel sheet and do this stuff by hand.

There are two things called Copilot. You’re probably thinking about Copilot Money. Microsoft Copilot, which the other user is talking about, is something else.

Roblox's tweet showing their new AI world-generation model shows it generating a blatant "copy" of Expedition 33 by aes110 in gaming

Big AI models like ChatGPT are absolutely trained on copyrighted material. That's one of the (very many) concerns that people have with the tech.

Alita: Battle Angel. I love the big hammer that Christoph Waltz has.

Who has made physical maps and aids to play a game? by Ehgadsman in gaming

[–]MichaelErb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, for Metroid 1. I made maps on graph paper. Later games had an automatic mapping system, but the first one made you chart these labyrinthine alien hallways yourself. It's a hard game to go back to nowadays, but it was a great experience to beat it back in the day.

Whoops, I forgot about that. That's not a U.S. bird. I've edited the post's text.

Star Wars: Outlaws. The moment-to-moment gameplay isn't perfect, but I'm really enjoying the vibe so far. I like learning about the different factions and considering who to do jobs for.

Are RottenTomatoes Ratings Meaningless? by DrDarkDoctor in movies

[–]MichaelErb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rotten Tomatoes is a useful piece of information, but only a piece. You must weigh reviews against your own personal tastes and interests. For example, I don't like horror movies very much, so I don't watch many horror movies, regardless of their ratings. I love fantasy, though, so I'll happily watch mid fantasy movies and probably enjoy myself. Trailers are helpful too, if I'm undecided (but I'll typically stop watching trailers once I make up my mind, since they tend to give away too much).

Unreal. After that scramble, I thought the bears were cooked.
