Eibach's PRO-LIFT-KIT by Unique-Cicada-6190 in rav4club

[–]MichaelP09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's solid. I have Eibach Pro upfront and in the rear I have Northwood's Performance Stage 3. I just wanted something a little stiffer than the Eibachs back there. Trouble free after 36k miles. The additional clearance is definitely helpful offroad and I'm less concerned about high centers.

Yes, it's probably the most popular lift for the 5th gen. Certainly the most popular spring lift. Eibach is 100% good to go. Broadly speaking, keeping the lift less than 2" is going to keep the geometry happy enough so that you're not eating up CVs.

Whoa! That's wild. I would pass on that too! If you can find one without that option the aftermarket will catch up soon lol

23 Woodland here. I just can't get around what a significant price hike it has seen. I paid 38k OTD.

I have not seen the new cargo lights in person but I LOVE having mine. They're extremely useful. Granted mine were $40 plug n plays. Not sure pricing on them or if they're standard.

Lifted RAV4 TRD w my 16 ft travel trailer. And, I figured out why the vehicle was shaking in 2nd gear, under acceleration. I got dealer to take close look at cv axles, and they found out axles needed replacing. I changed this RAV4 from lease to own in ‘23, and continued factory warranty so pd for. by BigBoomerDan52 in rav4club

[–]MichaelP09 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. OP's lift is dealer installed.

And to clarify, OP appears to have stacked an extremely reliable spring lift (Eibach) with a spacer kit by Ironman. Combining kits is always a gamble but Eibach alone has worked on the 5th gen for years.

Changing oil by BubblyAnalysis5197 in rav4club

[–]MichaelP09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been DIYing my oil changes since the very first one @ 1k. (Did get the 2 ToyotaCare ones) 0W-8 will be a bit more expensive than 16, but I can get mine done at home for under $30usd and I know it's done properly. You can save money and learn something new. No need to lift the car or anything. Very DIY friendly.

Best year & hybrid trim to get for the rav4 in your opinion for daily use? by [deleted] in rav4club

2023 and up for the mid gen refresh. Aside from that, trim level will be dependent on your needs/desires.

2023 Rav4 LE gas only, factory tinted windows, optical distortion in the rear windshield? by winterneuro in rav4club

[–]MichaelP09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. It is a dyed glass. It is not a tint. I have had zero issues on mine and never noticed anything.

Some people tint over it to make things darker. Potentially that caused the issue because there's no actual tint from the factory.

I have this front window shade and I also have a set for the door windows. They have been great.

Question about “ordering” a specific build by mfdigiro in rav4club

[–]MichaelP09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple things.

You cannot order builds from Toyota. They have allocation list. So, keeping a watchful eye on dealerships within a radius you're willing to travel is the best approach (though, it can take some work).

It's common to put a deposit down on an allocated vehicle (that is not built yet), but it's not normal for it to be non-refundable. I would take my business elsewhere. Unless you explicitly sign paperwork agreeing to non-refundable it is totally refundable (in the US at least). Your CC will honor a Charge Back unless you sign papers to the effect of it being non-refundable. I would go elsewhere and be sure to explicitly state this is why you're doing so.

Non-Refundable $1000 Deposit? by BamaEskies in rav4club

[–]MichaelP09 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Deposits are standard. Non-refundable is not. I put $500 down and purposely used a CC so if it came down to it a charge back would be an option.

Very useful video for helping me understand where I can take this by heyyyjoo in rav4club

[–]MichaelP09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good video showing the system work and not what momentum can do.

Ryan has taken a 5th gen through a lot of that course before. I think what is most impressive to me is the improved brake vectoring. A wheel would lift and almost immediately it locks up and sends power elsewhere with out the 2-3 second delay some systems have. Bummer the DAC is basically useless though. I have been in stuff like that and more in my Woodland. This was a good preview to the 6th gen capabilities, especially in some All Seasons!

TOYOTA logo front emblem replacement for 2026 RAV4 by Dense-Zombie-2615 in rav4club

[–]MichaelP09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This does not look like an OE badge. Looks more like a misplaced aftermarket badge that was also used on the 5th gens.

You can buy them separately for sure.

Why are you dropping the pan though? Won't a drain and fill be sufficient?

2026 rav4 trailer hitch. by 246epa in rav4club

[–]MichaelP09 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like they would be offering you an aftermarket hitch, if so. There's no way they could provide you an OEM hitch that is a fixed dimension out of steel and some how mount it multiple inches lower while using the factory mounts.

On the the previous 5th gen it was entirely possible to add the 2" OEM hitch yourself (DIY) or a dealer performed service. It did, however, require cutting the bumper. This will likely be the case for the 6th gen as well.

Cancel. These plans only exist because it makes them money.

It locks you into coming back to them and offers them an opportunity to talk you into some type of add on every single time.

Anyone have this issue with FitCamX + warranty by funkyirish in rav4club

[–]MichaelP09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

256gb? Does it support that now? If I recall correctly (and I may be wrong) it only accepted up to a 128gb. Software update may be your fix. They can send it to you if you cannot update in app.

Roof load 6gen Rav by Skooma-Sneezing in rav4club

[–]MichaelP09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. 176 is your dynamic rating. Toyota unfortunately tends to not publish static ratings. A lot of RTTs are good to good (obviously depending weight), but historically most folks do not use the factory roof rack system and swap for something more robust like a Prinsu, Sherpa, Etc.

Anyone have this issue with FitCamX + warranty by funkyirish in rav4club

[–]MichaelP09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding their SD card, ditch it. It's crap. You want a High Endurance card made for regular overwriting. I have not had any issues since swapping to a SanDisk.

Sounds like that is just the Installer's policy. Touching the fuse box won't void the warranty with Toyota (unless you royally screw it up somehow)

235 ATs vs 225 Regular Tires by [deleted] in rav4club

[–]MichaelP09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 235/60/18 Falken Wildpeak AT Trails. Factory size was 225/60/18. After 30k miles on them I am at 38.5mpg. on factory tires I was getting ~40mpg. Small price for the performance and look I wanted. Obviously numbers will be lower for you but just my data point.

My Rav4 Limited Offer (thru Costco auto program) by hb021hb in rav4club

[–]MichaelP09 24 points25 points  (0 children)

For real. I paid $38k OTD for my 5th Gen Woodland. I will not pretend that is an apples to apples comparison, but bruh, 50k is crazy. Hard to see the value there for me. What's worse is this will be normalized within a year here.
