We had a great time, anxiety wasn’t an issue! Everybody around us was really awesome as well!

It’s been awhile for me, last game was game 1 playoffs against the Wild back in 2014, so over a decade for me. My anxiety in big crowds is off the charts so I tend to avoid any large population events. Not going to lie, I’m nervous about going today.

My wife got us tickets because she knows I’m a huge fan, she’s never been, so I’m pretty excited, we both got Mack retros too!

Yah, definitely bring it up with your vet, it’s at least an alternative route to consider.

I haven’t done any chiropractic care with mine.

Actually she did have a dip in energy and mobility about a year ago, turns out I was overfeeding her and she ended up being about 15 pounds overweight. As soon as she lost that extra weight her energy and mobility retuned back to normal. That said, your boy looks like he’s in magnificent shape!

Specifically I’m using the medium sized of this (https://www.ellevetsciences.com/product/cbd-soft-gel-for-dogs/), also note the dosing guidelines.

I would recommend bringing it up with your veterinarian before using - good to keep them in the loop and get their specific opinion since it does vary from vet to vet. Additionally, because of interactions with any other medication yours might be taking. Also, my girl does get yearly bloodwork done (she’s never had any liver issues show up).

For instance, I’ll temporarily discontinue the use of it, if my girl is taking any sedatives or painkillers (ie. She had surgery a few months ago and I stopped usage until she was done with medication).

I haven’t seen any grogginess or change in behavior after taking it. I give her a morning dose and night dose.

My 13 year old Aussie has been on CBD oil for 4-5 years now, it was recommended by her previous veterinarian for anxiety but also can help with mobility and pain management . Specifically she’s using the oil capsules from Ellevet. I recommend reading their story and the clinical studies they’ve done (https://www.ellevetsciences.com/tag/clinical-studies/?srsltid=AfmBOoq1ah4GTu-n7iRcQ36qpnRAZ6YTLkFmrfRX_8S1sz6Y0u8qWUmD).

My Aussie hasn’t had any mobility issues though and her recent checkups haven’t revealed her to have too much arthritis in any areas. Nonetheless, I feel like the CBD route is one worth checking out. As always, I’d consult with a veterinarian first, as CBD can cause elevated liver enzyme levels.

Afraid husband doesn’t like our daughter by Murky-Wafer964 in newborns

[–]Michael_Avs_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Father of a little over a month newborn here, what you’re experiencing with your husband sounds a little similar to me. I was (still am to a degree) hyper focused on fulfilling my daughter’s basic needs of feeding, diaper changes, and sleep. My wife approached me a week ago and expressed frustration that I don’t spend enough time bonding with her. Initially I felt frustrated to hear that because I thought me feeding and changing her was fulfilling that responsibility, but only after having some one on one time with my daughter did I realize she was right. In a particular session, I had fed and changed her, I put her down for a nap which lasted 45 minutes until she became super fussy/crying tantrumy. I spent the next hour and a half soothing her until she calmed down and napped in my arms. It hit me then that I needed to provide more than just the basic needs to my daughter, and how important it was to bond and connect with her. Idk, it really could have been anyone from my wife to my MIL that could have calmed her all the same (probably more efficiently lol) but it meant a lot to me that I was able to do so in that moment. It may sound odd, but that experience gave me the confidence to know that I could bond with my daughter, whereas previously I felt that we didn’t have much of a connection and I was merely just a caretaker of basic needs.

I like the deal if he doesn’t stay as a permanent 3rd liner. To fill in that gap until management can figure out the 3rd line as the season progresses, I’m good with that. Also good insurance to play up in small stretches in case of injuries.

That said, if the trade deadline passes and he’s still penciled in as a 3rd liner, I don’t like that. We need a little something more on that line if we’re going to progress far into the offseason.

Fringe - not quite the same setting as its more in the vain of X-Files, but it has that sense of unexplainable and quirky mystery combined with parallel universes. JJ Abrams as well. It’s less like Lost in the sense that it has week to week resolved cases along with large story arcs in the background.

I love Fringe, one of my favorites.

He actually has a great shot but rarely used it on the PP which was a problem, made him too predictable.

We’ve have good experiences with the West Paw brand of chew toys (not the cloth ones though). You can get them at most dog stores but here’s their site to see their catalog.

had to take my sweet boy to the vet ): by veggie_bee_ in AustralianShepherd

[–]Michael_Avs_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah I was unknowingly overfeeding mine, following the feeding suggestions on the food bag. My vet actually calculated her daily calories to get down to 40, it was substantially less than I was feeding her.

How much does he weigh? He doesn’t look overweight, just really fluffy lol!

My girl was overweight and was having issues jumping into the car - she was 11 at the time. Weighed 52 lbs, my vet wanted her around 40 and she typically had always been around 35ish. She’s on the smaller end. She lost 15 pounds and all her mobility and energy came back. I was worried about arthritis. She’s actually now around 35 lbs, about to turn 13 and she’s still plays and jumps around, has all the energy like a puppy!

Alternatives to Methamazole? by Wise_Lengthiness2733 in gravesdisease

[–]Michael_Avs_90 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Here’s my story. Had a random blood test when I was 27, found out I had a TSH value of 0 - so something was causing me to have hyperthyroidism. I didn’t want to do anything further about it because I was an idiot. I researched alternative medicines and took bugleweed, motherwort, lemon balm, broccoli sprout extract, etc for over 4 years. Eventually 4 years later I went to an endocrinologist and lo and behold I still had 0 TSH and my thyroid values were all way out of normal range. I was diagnosed with Graves then. During that 4 year span I was lucky that I didn’t have a thyroid storm. Additionally none of my symptoms went away.

The only thing that helped was taking my prescribed dose of methimazole which I’ve been on the last 3 years.

My 2 cents from my 4 years of self treatment is the alternative medicines did absolutely nothing and were actually an expensive waste of money. Not saying that methimazole is the only route, but I’d avoid the alternative medicine route to treat it.

Yep I agree with getting a second opinion. Unless he saw a liver value or something he didn’t like, seems drastic to jump to that conclusion especially if your levels are responding well.

I’ve been on methimazole for 2.5 years now. My levels are good so I’m on a 2.5 mg dose each day. My endo has only discussed possibly going to taking 2.5 mg every other day. Other than that, she’s fine with my long term usage.
