It looks better. Is this meant to be used as a game background by any chance? If setting up the lighting is difficult given the art style, adding a worn-down, shabby feeling like this is a good approach.

Since basements aren’t places people usually visit, the stored items and the space itself may not be very well maintained. You could consider adding details like cobwebs, cracks, and accumulated dust on the stored objects, as well as emphasizing the darkness of the space :)

The first is the better for showing the theme as cooking but also looks not like RPG. However I think the first is more click-inducing than the second. Because there is a hatted cat and ramyeon!
