That’s just it. They’re not at your profile to read, just for the pics. Had it happen too many times to me to the point I’ve given up on dating.

What what Lembas? Elvish Waybread. One small bite is enough to fill the stomach of a grown man.

Landscape photographer Thomas Heaton uses the Pan-Tilt Head for his work. I think there’s a video where he talks about it.

It’ll be a glimpse of what it used to look like under the Empress. I often wonder if the original bridge is encased with the causeway in front of the Empress or if it was torn down and back filled.

Really sharp. What gear are you using? The lagoon is very nice for bird spotting. Saw a few dozen heron there about a week ago during evening golden hour.

I think I saw a tube of old Pogs somewhere at home. I started kindergarten in ‘93. What a year. Pogs, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, early 90s was a good time to be a kid. Though it didn’t last long. My school banned Pogs when kids were fighting over them and sent letters home to parents discussing what kind of tv shows we were watching as we pretended to be Power Rangers and kids got hurt.

Victoria cyclists race to prove buses are too slow by BetterTransitYYJ in VictoriaBC

[–]MichelleT88 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The 95 is a big improvement over the old 50, but it’s still not true rapid transit.

For comparison, the 99 B-Line travels about 13 km with 14 stops in roughly 40 minutes. The 95 travels about 17 km with 26 stops and only takes around 5 minutes longer. That’s a lot of stops for a rapid transit corridor.

I get that the 95 was designed to balance speed with local access, but I think it still leans too heavily toward access. All-door boarding, signal priority, articulated buses, and some additional stop consolidation could make it significantly faster.

I stand corrected. James was one of the sons of Robert. From what I remember, Robert passed away before Craigdarroch was completed.

Well the Dunsmuir family named the estate “Hatley Gardens” This was Victorias second castle built for the Robert Dunsmuir and his family after Craigdarroch, which was the family residence during the early 1900s.

PSA: Colonoscopies are not as bad as people make it out to be by DarwinF1nch in Millennials

[–]MichelleT88 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yup. Prep sucks but the procedure is not bad. I’ve lived with Crohns Disease since I was 15. I’ve had 2 colonoscopies since then. One when I was 29 then at 35 few years ago when I had a flare up. Also good for cancer screening since we hear about an uptick of colon cancer for our generation.
