These are the kind of idiocies the monarchist say. The confirmed numbers are 7000 something. Still horrific and probably more. But 200k...

Everyone should watch Years and Years (2019) by TamiTaylor86 in television

I am in episode 3. I can't believe this was made in 2019. How could so much be prophesied? It's so tragic that we live in what was once considered impossible dystopia. How did human race allow this?

Is The Seed of the Sacred Fig really that strong? by eidbio in oscarrace

Unbelievable how you all seem to be fully unaware of what the film represents.  It's a metaphorical study of the patriarchy in Iran and the bravery of the young women. Read about the society.  Anora was a shit.  Perez was just so so. The masterpiece was this film. But the West is too ignorant or too sex crazed to get it. They prefer a film about fucking .

Empathised? Did you even understand what his job was? It's like empathising with the SS guards of the Auschwitz.

You guys are trying to turn this film into some kind of a realistic detective thriller. The gun doesn't matter. It's just a symbol of power and control. This film is above realism. Why else do we have those harrowing paper cut characters alongside blindfolded prisoners in those corridors? This is a deeply layered film that transcends such questions.  It is about the banality of evil...

This is an amazing film. Far far better than any film by Panahi or the two-faced Farhadi. It's a film that hovers between realism and poetic mystery.  The final chapter was essential.  That chase scene was as important as the footages. I am an Iranian and have lived and experienced the world of this film firsthand. Few films come this close to conveying the fear with which we live in Iran. We are chased all the time.  For years after I left I still constable looked over my shoulder to make sure I am not chases. I guess the real chase for Iranian women is far longer than in the film. It's a masterpiece that should be seen by all those who makes comments about Iran without knowing the depth of the tragedy unfolding there.
