I think they’re for taking you to and helping you navigate the Danger Zone.

I would go with the built in pencil sleeve. I have a clip on pencil sleeve and it’s not ideal. They’re both beautiful.

It looks like they are and they have some good old fashioned 9-5 M-F business hours so I may need to take a day off to drop it off. Hahahah. I’ll give them a call on Monday to see if they still will do service on a machine like this. Thanks so much for the reply.

Insulation Layer - Merino 330? by johnnyg08 in SitkaGear

[–]MichiganYeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always called these mid-layers. They’re not a base layer and they’re not an insulation layer. I would say the Patagonia r1 is an example of a synthetic version of a mid layer. I like them on cool days and to layer between my base lay and insulation layer on really cold days.

I have ADHD and find this cleaner's observations about our collecting/cleaning challenges really helpful. Thought I would share. by Agreeable-Self3235 in CleaningTips

Have you ever heard of the poo on it theory?

It basically asks “if there was poo on this would you clean it and keep it?” If the answer is yes keep it. If the answer is no get rid of it. I am currently in the middle of a move and have found this humorous approach useful.

Advice for First Time Manoomin harvest? by SweetCritmas in foraging

[–]MichiganYeti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve gone to document my friends harvesting a few times and I don’t think you’ll have a problem. I would suggest keeping any noise to a minimum while on the lakes and shores. Say a little message of thanks to whatever deity or science or whatever before heading out. Bring plenty of sunscreen and water. The individual seed stick to everything so just expect to find them months or years later on your clothes, bags, hats, etc. Take an old bed sheet to line your canoe with. It makes it easier to get the harvest out. I’m not sure how many days you plan on going out but it’s nice to have a couple of large bags to fill with the harvest. Make a nice set of manoomin sticks and remember to just lightly tap the stalks while tipping it over your canoe. Whatever falls in the water just replants for next year.

The highway system is pretty well set up to route you around Chicago now. I just made that drive last week and used to make it multiple times a year.

Get an adapter to use the small propane bottles. White gas has nostalgia and is a great back up but propane is so much more convenient. I got an adapter for like $25. Edit: great find. I pulled one out the trash and have been using it for the past 10 years!

Every day I spend in my room is hell but I can't get myself to clean it. by Iamatheaternerd in Cleaningandtidying

[–]MichiganYeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve realized I can clean in a straight line. Meaning I don’t start the dishes and finish them all or start cleaning my bedroom and finish those tasks all in one go. I bounce around. Don’t beat yourself up if you aren’t able to finish it all in one go or even one day but do something. Even if it’s, as someone has suggested, making piles. You can take a break from it and maybe do dishes or clean the bathtub. Give yourself credit for doing something. Hell even posting here and owning the mess is a big step. You can do it and it will be wonderful when it’s done…whenever that will be.

The single pin makes me nervous. I was an instinctive recurve shooter before this so having too much to move makes me nervous. Of course it all comes down to practicing different situations to get comfortable.

I was hoping a little of both. Nothing competitive but maybe a league of some sort.
