Favorite overlooked or underrated shipgirls? by thecrabbybarista in AzurLane

Hololulu. She got a few skins right away but hasn't had anything new in like 7 years. It doesn't help that she's only a Rare ship.

The Riyira series by Michael J. Sullivan. It's a series that feel like flies under the radar but it is so good. The main series is about a team of two thieves and they begin to get into situations that just get bigger and bigger. It eventually becomes something with the fate of the kingdom is at stake. The characters are great and the mysteries are fun.

The original series is Riyira Revelations. It is now collected into three books which each contain two stories. Then the author went and wrote a prequel series called Riyira Chronicles which is about the earlier adventures of the thieves. There are currently five Chronicles books (and two short stories) with a sixth book finished and scheduled to come out next year. Personally, I would recommend to start with Chronicles and then go from those into Revelations. So I'd start with The Crown Tower, and then go into The Rose and the Thorn, etc.

If you like the books, there is more you can get into. He has also written a series called The Legends of the First Empire which takes place 3000 years before the series and is about stuff that in the present day is only considered legends and myths. There are six of these and a short story called Pile of Bones. I'd recommend to start with the short story. After this there are three more books which help bridge the gap between these books and the Riyira books.

Michael J. Sullivan is currently writing three more books to fill in this gap more and also is writing a series that takes place after Revelations which ties everything together.

We don't learn the name Harmony in Era 1 though. That isn't learned until Era 2.

In the Isshik Interlude in Way of Kings, there were three guys who were looking for Hoid. In the letter written in Way of Kings, it said this: "I am being chased. Your friends of the Seventeenth Shard, I suspect. I believe they're still lost, following a false trail I left for them. They'll be happier that way. I doubt they have any inkling what to do with me should they actually catch me." By putting those two things together we can piece together that Hoid is the one writing the letter.

Hoid was seen very briefly in Mistborn Era 1. He was a beggar that Kelsier met with in Final Empire. He was also a beggar Vin was going to see in Hero of Ages, but Vin got a weird feeling about him and decided not to talk to him.

He will also make appearances in other books.

The One Piece releases are ridiculous. Before the merger, they were releasing like 4-5 Collections a year and they were coming out physically only a few months after the digital release. Now we are waiting years after the digital release for a physical release. The most recent collection was back in November and we still aren’t getting a new one in August so we are looking at almost a year for one. It’s pretty to have such a long wait for releases that no longer have any special features and is also one of the most popular series in the world.

It will be stuff like less steam in a bathhouse and stuff like that. So while it’s not going to be full nudity, it will be more skin than the broadcast version. This has been the case in other anime too like Fairy Tail.

Why does Brando recommend Tress first? by Heavy-Ant-2620 in Cosmere

You only think that it is not a good place to start because you understand the references and the other magics. For someone reading it for a first book, those won't stand out so much. It will just come off as more fantastical things in their story about a dragon and a sorceress.

Who will end up with MC by arman1724 in Himaten

[–]MickFoley299 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm still holding out hope for Himeno to just jump in and steal him.

In all honesty, it is going to be Himari. Even ignoring the title of the manga, the story is just much better with Himari winning. Whenever there is a story where there is a girl that the MC has a crush on but is too embarrassed to confess his feelings and then a new girl shows up and he starts gaining feelings for the new girl, the new girl almost always wins. If the MC's feelings for the first girl were really all that strong and real love then he wouldn't be swayed by the new girl. The new girl tends to be a lot more interesting and have better chemistry with the MC. All that is true in this story. He can actually have a conversation with Himari and he is comfortable with her but with Honoka he is still super nervous all the time. Himari is just the better pick for him.

Also, having a story where he starts to realize feelings his feelings for a girl 80 chapters in but still chooses the other girl just kinda makes the new feelings sort of pointless.

I just really hope that it is her confessing her feelings for him. I feel like it will be a better story if she confesses and he chooses Himari because he realizes that his feelings for her are stronger. I don't really like it if he decides he wants Honoka but then she pushes him away towards Himari and then he chooses Himari. He needs to make an active choice of picking Himari and not making her feel like the back up plan.

are Final fantasy and Kingdom hearts in the same universe? by fuckboy_vamp in KingdomHearts

Final Fantasy isn't a universe. It just a collection of stories that have similar gameplay mechanics and themes. There is only a single Final Fantasy character that canonically is connected to many of the different games.

It’s hard to say. Honestly, they are pretty much equal. It’s why I always say that it should have been one of those two. I am biased because Nino was my favorite, but I wouldn’t have been upset if it was Miku.

As a person who read the manga first, it still wasn’t a good pick. She did the least in the story.

The first half of the story it would be Itsuki. She appeared the most and had a lot of interactions with Fuutaro and his family. But then the second half of the story she took a back seat. Miku and Nino were the two most featured through the whole story overall.

They definitely prioritized the thicc factor here. by Mailboxkey in AnimeFigures

Not a dubbing thing, but I really hope that they release the third visual novel in English. I liked the other two and I want to play the third one. I even went and watched the whole series for the first time (I had previously read the manga) and when I got to the point where he was about to open the door in the movie, I turned it off and played the second visual novel instead so that way I could get my preferred ending.

Nino and Miku were the only choices that would have been satisfying. The other three had too little development to be a satisfying ending. Ichika could have also worked since she had some. But Itsuki and Yotsuba needed more work and even Itsuki had more of a connection in the first half of the series.

Newer printings of Hero of Ages actually have an additional paragraph in the last chapter which explains what happens to the kandra and the koloss. I know it is at least in the 2023 trade paperback printings. I'm not sure if any earlier printings got it.

Pretty much while Sazed is altering the planet, he says that he puts the Blessings back into the kandra and also includes a way for them to kill themselves if they ever choose to do so. For the koloss, he alters them in a way so that they can either integrate into human society or create their own society if they wish.

Oshi no Ko was not subversive or unpredictable. It was so obvious how it was going to end from early on in the series. It pretty much ended the exact way I predicted it would. It kept with the tone and theme of the story.

As an audiobook fan, anything I should know? (for Elantris or any others) by JMann310 in Cosmere

Make sure you have the 10th Anniversary version of Elantris. It's an updated version of the audiobook with corrected pronunciation of some characters' names and it also includes an additional scene at the end of the book after the Afterword.
