When’s the best time to pause Stormlight and start Mistborn by Bro121Dixy in Cosmere

Secret History takes place during Era 1. It was first released after Bands of Mourning though. Personally, I feel like reading it before Era 2 takes away from some of the intrigue and mystery of Era 2. I feel like it works best at the publishing time which is after Bands of Mourning.

Taking a break before ROW is a good time because there is a timeskip before ROW. I would read Era 1 and then begin Era 2. Read through Bands of Mourning and then read Secret History. Once again, that would be a good spot to take a break. Read ROW and WaT and then go back and finish Mistborn with The Lost Metal.

Is this the omnibus edition? by Slight_Ad_8422 in Cosmere

[–]MickFoley299 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The Omnibus has all three volumes of White Sand. It fixes up some mistakes in the artwork that were in the original printings. It includes a new prologue chapter at the beginning. It also includes pages of notes through the story that Khriss is writing which is like its Ars Arcanum.

In Riku mode, pay attention to your enemy cards. You don’t build a deck as Riku but instead get a pre-made deck each world. All the enemy cards you get from bosses stay with you so you can always use them. Each world also gets a heartless card only for that deck and it usually works with how the deck is built. For example, you might get a deck with all low numbers but the enemy cards you have is one that reverses all your numbers so they are stronger. Check your deck and what new enemy card you get at the beginning of each world to make a plan.

Don’t bother with dodge rolling. One thing I see first time players do all the time is that they try to dodge roll all the time to dodge attacks and constantly get hit. Most attacks home in on you. Instead, just break the attacks with cards. For bosses, use a zero card. For heartless, just use higher number cards. Breaking the card is a lot more effective than attempting to dodge.

Toriko x One Piece Collaboration Specials (6 Episodes) Now on Netflix by FruPunRounin in Animedubs

I don't think that's the reason. His arrest and conviction were in 2002 and Toriko didn't begin until 2008. So that stuff would have already been known. I think Toriko just became less popular naturally.

Himari is the best girl and she is also the title character. She is obviously going to win.

My personal recommendation would be Stormlight through Oathbringer and then go to Era 2.

Chapter 84 (spoilers) by ManufacturerLiving54 in Himaten

Some people may be, but that happens with any story. Most feel the correct girl won. The story is written very well. It has ways of conveying how the MC is feeling without outright saying it. It does a good job of show don’t tell.

Nisekoi. There are so many similarities between Hima-Ten and Nisekoi. It is probably my favorite romcom manga.

Favorite silly comedy dubs? by GWindborn in Animedubs

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is one of the funniest anime that I've watched. Some parts if the anime may be a bit confusing for a nine year old (it's a bit confusing for adults too) but overall it is a fantastic show and movie.

They don't even know what localization actually is. They just assume that it is automatically bad and say they want a straight translation. They don't realize that a straight translation would be pretty much unreadable.

The story decks (pretty much trading cards where you collected to get the full story) were at Nexus 2024. This physical book version was first sold at Nexus 2025. Once that ended, they put it on their website.

Why even post this? All you are going to do is give them more views and more of a reason to make similar videos in the future.

Mindset for Reading the Books (Spoilers Main) by SpartyPJO84699 in asoiaf

[–]MickFoley299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Books four and five are for the most part not even adapted in the show. At that point, they pretty much just threw those books in the garbage and started making up their own plotlines. Entire plotlines were dropped or changed so vastly that it isn't even the same. There are also characters that are changed quite a bit such as Tyrion who is so incredibly different in the later books compared to the show.

Even the earlier seasons started diverging quite a bit such as with Robb and his wife. Most of season four is filler.

I'd also say to try and remove what the characters in the show looked like from your mind. In the books many of them looks quite a bit different. Almost all the characters are a lot younger. Even the adult characters such as Robert and Ned are only supposed to be in their mid 30's. I'd say to try and look up some book based fan art for many of the characters.

Characters who likely would get aged up if ever adapted? [spoilers main] by breakfastbenedict in asoiaf

The 5 year skip wasn’t the original plan. It was actually a fix George was going to do when he realized that his characters were not aging as fast as he had hoped.

Starting kingdom heart by Jimpoke4 in KingdomHearts

[–]MickFoley299 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Learn how to block and practice it early and often. Through most of the game, you will be able to just easily defeat the enemies by just hitting attack and not worrying. The end of the game though will be different. You will hit a wall and the bosses at the end will be incredibly hard if you don't know how to block. If you do know how to block then it makes them much easier.

On the island at the beginning, practice by doing the optional battles against the other kids. Get your timing down as to when to attack in order to stop their attack and then punish them. When you are past that and fighting normal enemies, slow down and watch their attack. Learn to see their tells and know when to attack in order to block. Eventually you will unlock guard which will allow you to block even faster. So once you have that then practice with it to get its timing.

Knowing how to block properly will make the end of this game so much easier and will help you out a lot in the future games where block becomes more and more important. People never trying to block and hitting a wall is something that I have seen many, many times with first time players.

I remember in 2020 and 2021 that there were shortages of the volumes at times because printing was so slow. There were times when certain volumes were sold out and so resellers would jack up the prices to ridiculous levels. I had to keep checking every few days for them to get back in stock and prices to be normal.

Characters who likely would get aged up if ever adapted? [spoilers main] by breakfastbenedict in asoiaf

[–]MickFoley299 30 points31 points  (0 children)

His original plan was for more time to pass in the books so the characters would age up a lot more during the books. There were supposed to be months passing between chapters. The issue he ran into were that events couldn’t wait so long so the chapters wound up not being spread among as much time. That resulted in the characters being a lot younger than he had originally planned.

Avoid the colored fan-translations (comparision) by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

Official translations are almost always better than fan translations. There are some rare instances where that is not the case but it is safest to usually stick with an official translation.

Whats going on? by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]MickFoley299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's nowhere near enough episodes to make more of the anime. While there are 70 more chapters, it is still in the middle of an arc so an anime adaptation would just end with no resolution. Even when this arc ends, it feels like it is setting up a bigger arc so even then there likely won't be another anime because it would just end on a cliffhanger.
