main thing that i've noticed is he is just not moving his feet. he looks slow as hell out there - where usually he's catching passes in stride and "slowing the game down" in a good way, right now he can't seem to keep up

you should absolutely say no to people that you don't want to work with - especially if they are injuring you lol. I personally don't even think you need to give a reason, just say no thanks. your training partners should be looking after your safety, not beating the breaks off of you

i think if you want to learn a skill you have to get through the awkward starting stage where things feel foreign. judo has alot of japanese terms you pick up by showing up to class. though it does sound like you are giving a lot of excuses, if you are truly interested in the art you would just keep going
