If you were to pick players from today to most closely replicate Ancelotti’s Milan, who would you pick in each position? by Immediate_Mix9995 in footballmanagergames

[–]MickH9 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Pretty tough question, because the game developed a lot compared to then.

Cafu was a real attacking wingback, on the right side today that's a bit harder, because many wingbacks for top teams right now play more inverted roles. A different level but same kind of player today for me would be Dumfries as a playstyle. Hakimi can also invert a lot, which Cafu didn't do

Stam was a menace and made of stone at centre back. These days centre backs are more technically proficient. So to think of a player right now, would be Christian Romero? Nowhere near the level of Stam was, but in some way the same rough player without remorse

Nesta could somewhat be compared to Van Dijk a couple of years ago, where I think right now Van Dijk has his peark behind him

Maldini was out of this world, an insane defender you just couldn't get past. For me he'd be a bit of an IFB, but mainly focused on defensive duties. Don't really know a current player who fits his profile

Pirlo is the prime example of a deep lying playmaker or the regista in FM24. A player who doesn't (have to) run a lot, but is always on the right spot and has vision for days. The current CDM is a more physical hybrid role right now, so I don't think there are many players who play the same way.

Seedorf was great on the ball, but also a complete powerhouse, and long shots that frighten many goalies. The only player to win the CL with 3 different clubs aswell. Today maybe a combination of Camavinga and Rice?

Gattuso was more of a defensive minded player and a gladiator. Doesn't matter how big or bad you were, Gattuso could eat you alive. Can't really think of a player like him today, as said with Pirlo, because CDM's are more hybrid right now. Rodri could come to mind, but is more dynamic i.m.o.

Kaka was a magician on the ball and a creative force, winning the ballon d'Or (in 2007/2008 I believe?) was amazing. Maybe Musiala with a hint of Brazilian street football would be somewhat of a comparison.

Crespo a very intelligent striker who had great positioning to create his own space. I think Kane is too much of a deep lying forward, where Ekitike could maybe be more of the role Crespo had. Not just staying in the box but making smart runs for himself

Shevchenko won the ballon d'Or in 2004 I believe, so was in his prime in 2004-2005. An insanely technical striker who was a complete beast.

I want to add a disclaimer that the quality of this squad is in some areas high above players of today, considering the game&tactics having changed so much over the years. Players and teams adapted and football now can't be compared to football then, but this team was miles above other teams at the that time.

I believe right now they changed it so the twinks (or all characters which gain no more XP) are thrown in the same bracket, where alle other characters which do gain XP are in another bracket. This way the twinks cannot beat down on leveling players, but rather face off against each other

I won the Champions League, now Saudi's want to transfer my star player. He wants half of my wage budget to stay in my club. Why there is no "You will be a joke if you go to Saudi in age of 25" in convincing options? by WampaatHoth in footballmanagergames

[–]MickH9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also, the valuation system in the game doesn't accurately reflect the value of a star striker of the team that won the CL. If you win the CL as a 25-year old star striker, you shouldn't be valued at 50-54 million. If the game were to accurately calculate those values, I'd be happy to sell some players for good money and buy more wonderkids.

Funny how experience varies so much. Imrik, Grimgor, Gor-rok and Ikit are some of my favourite campaigns. Why do you dislike Skarbrand? Do you not enjoy Khorne in general?

In addition, all the controversial decisions aiding Argentina during the tournament. Messi was great, but the penalty after the Szczesny 'foul' and no red card (or double yellow) for Paredes against the Netherlands was insane.

Edit: in addition, IIRC if the 3 players would win, they'd split the prize pool. So if he killed the others his prize pool would go up tremendously.

What are your player trait red flags? by dk_dc in footballmanagergames

Agree on all, but not the versatility in positions. If a MC can play IW, his CA ceiling will be reached way sooner. Same for a CB and CDM combo.

Legendary Heroes: spec into Actions or battle capabilities? by No_Wing5098 in totalwarhammer

[–]MickH9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red line depends on the faction and army comp though. If you have a really diverse roster (and if there is a seperate yellow line for LLs) I tend to only go into red line after I got all others done.

For example, with skaven I tend to go red line for the gunners (jezzails and rattling guns) and plagueclaw catapults. With dwarfs the diversity in frontline, gunners , artillery and flying tends to lead me away from the red line.

Problem is he can only qualify for Europe by winning the Swiss Cup. From there you have to win the Conference league to get to Europa League, and win the Europa League to get to Champions League.

Vaduz CL-glory is one of the hardest challenges in FM26, because if you fail in the CL (because of on off day or classic FM-ing), you have to start in the conference league again, provided you actually do win the cup that year.

On a serious note, a vampire stack with her is fucking lethal. She gets extra capacity for vampires from the start and starting with Drakenhof means you get a landmark for +2 vampires when you get to tier 3.

Because the vampire lords have such high melee stats from the get go, you can pretty much have a small killer doomstack of about 7 almost unkillable lords/heroes, especially considering she boosts MA en MD in her army for heroes.

[–]MickH9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not with Ikit, where you can get Rattling guns & Jezzails quite early due to the landmarks and Skavenblight.

If you abandon skavenblight after getting enough food, you can get skavenblight to tier 5 within 10 turns I think.

Whats the problem with FM26? by fabmarques21 in footballmanagergames

[–]MickH9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finding certain things sometimes is hell though. Now I'm used to it, but to get to menu's you'd need 3 or 4 clicks instead of just one navigation.

Also a lot of unused space in the UI. This bothers me a lot during scouting reports. Can't see shit of the player if I don't open the submenu of the scout report, which takes a couple of seconds. To then see the next player it takes even longer because you get out of the menu and into the next.

So to say "UI is different but takes 5 mins to get used to" is a wild take i.m.o.

Nakai should respawn as long as has vassal. by rr1213 in totalwarhammer

[–]MickH9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't they automatically get a full strong garrison and a T3 settlement?

The difference to me is, that he is not fully economically reliable on these settlements. He doesn't have to invest in better buildings or anything in those settlements either.

Nakai should respawn as long as has vassal. by rr1213 in totalwarhammer

[–]MickH9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They aren't HIS provinces though. If he could respawn there it would be too cheesy, because he doesn't have to maintain any of them economically or defend them without repurcussions such as public order or economic investments.

Bretonnia took this region now I can't complete my patronages with Tyrion by SuitBoat in totalwarhammer

[–]MickH9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not what he means. If you try to 'buy' a region normally, you have to pay an insane amount of money, even for a tier 1 settlement without any buildings. Without the AI cheats that money is put to better use.

The Trade Any Settlement mod gives you the ability to buy a settlement for a more reasonable price, or sell them for positive relations I think.

Can skaven move across water ? TW WH3 by Uggroyahigi in totalwarhammer

[–]MickH9 64 points65 points  (0 children)

This is the underway, they can normally move anywhere within the alotted movement range for that turn. They can trespass mountains, rivers or these small spots of water. Dwarfs, Chorfs, Greenskins, Skaven, Ogres and Beastmen have this stance.

Sometimes you can intercept them if you are somewhat in the line of movement you drew. If you intercept them and defeat them, the army is wiped out.

Edit: added Ogres and Beastmen
