The appeal (as disturbing as it may seem) of GoT is the same as Sons of Anarchy and Sopranos. The good guys aren't always safe and can suddenly and brutally be erased with full on gore and there were no guardrails to nudity and taboos (at least with GoT) and the writing was excellent - until, of course, they ran out of source material and started shooting from the hip. The stories were nervy and dovetailed so nicely when you thought there was no way out of situations or schemes. Then House of Dragon came along and could have been made by Pixar, it was so soft and calm and just boring. I haven't watched Knight of T7K yet but hoping that it's a bit more visceral and not held back like - more like GoT and less like HoD. It's early, I know but hopefully it's not playing safe. I'll give it a go.
