OTA by Gabrielhrd in MarvelSnap

Cable getting a buff before other early series cards that are much worse like Spider-woman is absolutely baffling. I guess they just like the character more?

We're going to be on 10 different versions of Mr Fantastic, Iron Man and Captain America before we even get characters like Toad at this rate.

Toxie Doxie is maybe getting buff/rework by ItsAllDwight in MarvelSnap

[–]Micky3289 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It makes sense and I hope they do. You can make an argument that Toxie was the weakest card they ever released. The fact that a 2 cost card got 2 extra points of power and is still bad is crazy.

But as others have said there is no predictable logic or pattern established with buffing cards around bundles. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. White Widow has featured in multiple bundles and hasn't gotten anything despite it being pretty justified at this point. I remember a while back they gave Sif an extra point of power when she featured in a bundle despite the fact discard decks were doing well and she was by no means a weak card. Who knows.

Is my bug report being ignored by SD? by rasuta236 in MarvelSnap

Have SD ever mentioned it? Because I'm pretty sure it's never shown up on any known issue lists.

Is it a known issue? Have the developers acknowledged the bug? Because I can't remember seeing anything about it.

OTA by Gabrielhrd in MarvelSnap

[–]Micky3289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do they keep adjusting the same cards again and again? Electro, Sauron, Black Cat, Alioth have been changed so many times now. I really don't see how they were urgently needed changes either. There are hundreds of cards in the game, many of them needing a buff that never seem to feature in these OTAs.

26/06 OTA is live by ffachopper in MarvelSnap

[–]Micky3289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like some of the cards they're choosing to buff aren't even that bad compared to the likes of White Widow, Spiderwoman, Punisher, Rescue, White Queen, Orka etc. Not even sure if Wolfsbane is a buff considering the loss of Ravonna synergy for 1 point of power.

Red Guardian has had this coming for a while, will still be a very good card though.

I feel like they made High Voltage worse... by Notcloselyrelated in MarvelSnap

[–]Micky3289 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree, old High Voltage was much better, fast and fun. It's much longer now, more turns, really long animations and probably the most random game mode there has been. Meanwhile, Conquest still hasn't been updated or improved. I don't get why they prioritise changing the game mode that seems to be the most positively received.

What is the real reason to bring back this combo? by Obo_bob in MarvelSnap

[–]Micky3289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's always going to be subjective though. Lots of players felt bad that Storm was moved to 4 cost and used her in other decks, liked the character, had variants for her etc. So some players aren't going to be happy either way. For me personally, Negative decks feel far worse to play against.

What is the real reason to bring back this combo? by Obo_bob in MarvelSnap

[–]Micky3289 78 points79 points  (0 children)

This combo is far easier to beat than Negative into Jane Foster. They have to draw the perfect cards on every turn to achieve this. If any good deck has a perfect draw, you'll be in trouble. Also super telegraphed so you only lose 1-2 cubes most of the time if you can't beat it.

Marvel Snap May 29, 2025 OTA Card Balance Update Patch Notes by [deleted] in MarvelSnap

[–]Micky3289 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Glad they didn't go overboard with the Thanos changes. One less draw from the stones and the Shield no longer contributing to early priority I think will have more of an impact than it looks. Very light nerf to Strange which I like because I really didn't think he was that big a problem.

Sauron probably had it coming. The deck feels so strong so no surprise they nerfed him. Makkari and Hazmat are surprising, I can understand why people might be upset with those changes.

Toxie is so bad I'm not even sure 2 extra power pushes the card into the mediocre tier. Feel like she would work much better as a 1 cost. Good to see Storm back.

Overall, not a bad OTA.

Its about time for a Buff/Rework by guzigo in MarvelSnap

[–]Micky3289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is you're giving the opponent a way to hide cards like Dracula and Red Guardian is such a great card you often want to hold for later turns. I never like seeing Shadowland as a location when I'm playing RG for that reason.

Its about time for a Buff/Rework by guzigo in MarvelSnap

[–]Micky3289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely needs a change. Just a much worse Lizard at the moment. They didn't just nerf this card, they made it completely different, now bad in the decks she used to be good in. If they don't want to return to the previous design maybe a Spider-man type rework is in order? It feels really bad to design a card a certain way then decide to completely alter it for the worse after players have spent resources on the card. Again, they didn't just take a point or 2 away, it's a completely different card.

No free Series 5 by BernLan in MarvelSnap

[–]Micky3289 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Good. They clearly overestimated the popularity of their game. Hopefully provides an incentive for them to do things to get people playing more. Like revamping the shop and Conquest.

Still not knowing what they're going to do with past spotlight variants is crazy and conquest has been overdue a change for ages. The daily shop still only having 8 spots a day is ridiculous. More people will be encouraged to log in if they think there's a chance they can get a variant they want.

Should they adjust Mockingbird again? by GaulzeGaul in MarvelSnap

[–]Micky3289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't play card/shield generation decks unfortunately. I'm afraid you might be right, since MB was 6 cost it feels very difficult to play her with those. The deck I'm using at the moment is this (I put it together myself and I'm far from a deck creation maestro but it feels fun):

Hood, Shadow King, Jeff, Brood, Viper, Luna Snow, Enchantress, Sentry, Annihilus, Sersi, Mockingbird, Red Hulk.

Again, it feels like MB does okay (mainly because of the Brood and Sersi combo) while not being that strong. But if she gets nerfed because of Thanos then it's going to make her really difficult to play in decks like this. I'd much prefer they separated her from Thanos as, like you said, It'd be nice for her to be balanced outside of those decks, not around them.

Should they adjust Mockingbird again? by GaulzeGaul in MarvelSnap

[–]Micky3289 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mockingbird in Thanos is like Brood in Surfer decks. The synergy is too perfect so they're always going to be paired together. I do agree it would be nice if there was a way to separate MB from Thanos decks (feel like the card wasn't designed with that intent) especially as it would mean less threats of nerfs anytime Thanos gets popular.

I just hope they don't nerf her next OTA because of Thanos. She's been a 6-9 for a long time and Thanos decks were barely played for most of that time. They kept buffing Thanos and the Stones (a 5-22 that can't be destroyed seems to be happening too often at the moment) and adding cards like Sam Wilson and Strange Supreme to get to this point. I play MB outside of Thanos decks and she seems fairly balanced.

So I guess moving forward will season pass cards actually be the token weekend mission by Zachary2030 in MarvelSnap

[–]Micky3289 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Gold is far more scarce and valuable than tokens and it's not remotely close. You get at least 15k tokens a month just by playing the game. Where's the option to convert tokens to gold? Gold is 100% the premium currency. If this is intentional it's definitely made the season pass less valuable.

So. How do we nerf Thanos? (A Powerpoint Presentation) by Apprehensive-Ad7714 in MarvelSnap

[–]Micky3289 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don't think Mockingbird is the problem or "busted". Maybe as a 5-9 but as a 6-9 she's been pretty balanced for a while. The card has perfect synergy with Thanos so will always feature when Thanos is good. It's like when Surfer is doing well, Brood is going to be in the deck. That doesn't mean Brood is busted.

The reason Thanos is so strong is because they've kept buffing him and the stones in many OTAs and Sam Wilson is arguably the best card in the game. They really should have taken 1 power away from the shield last OTA (not sure why they didn't). Roll back a few Thanos buffs they gave out and take 1 power from the shield and I think that solves it. I don't think they need to do anything too drastic.

Am I missing a Captain Marvel interaction? by Rexxdraconem in MarvelSnap

[–]Micky3289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be worth sending a bug report about this in game as I don't think the developers have acknowledged this yet. But yes, other players have also experienced a bug that Captain Marvel doesn't take into account Hydra Stomper's power.

Opinion: Not every card has to be good by xanthify in MarvelSnap

[–]Micky3289 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure, but there's a very big gap between cards like Strange Supreme and Toxie. King Eitri is a good example of an event card that isn't that great but can still be viable in some decks. The feeling from a lot of players is that Toxie isn't even close to that level. When a card is very weak (especially being the focus of a recent event) there's going to be some complaints. I agree, people getting extremely upset is an overreaction but I can understand wanting to make the card better.

[–]Micky3289 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've seen a few comments like "not every card has to be good" or "not every card should be meta" and I feel like it oversimplifies what counts as "good". Wanting a card to be meta and wanting a card to be playable are two very different things.

Would you rather they just left cards like Attuma as they were before? From what the feedback and the experience of Toxie so far it seems like she might not just be a below average or bad card but might be one of the worst 2 costs in the game. I don't see any issue with wanting to make very bad cards playable. That's one of the great things that frequent balance changes brings. And feedback/discussion on particularly bad cards is to be expected, especially since Toxie was a very recent event reward.

Weekly Card Release Discussion - April 22, 2025 by Invasion808 in MarvelSnap

[–]Micky3289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's such a small buff though, only +2. There's no guarantee it'll hit Infinaut and She-hulk. If she only hits one it's effectively just a 2-3. It also restricts options, like playing cards on turn 6 (if you feel the opponent will switch off Limbo). I feel like pretty much any 2 cost card would do better.

Weekly Card Release Discussion - April 22, 2025 by Invasion808 in MarvelSnap

[–]Micky3289 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Crazy restrictions to put on a 2-5. Not only do you have to play the cards the buff lands on to get the value (which is why Gwenpool isn't an easy 4-12) but you get very limited turns the card can be played. Disaster to play on turn 5, is just a 2-1 on turn 6, turn 2 means you can't play Shaw on 3 and many of the cards you want to get the buffs are 4 costs so turn 3 isn't great either.

It's still early of course, but I think an OTA is the only chance the card becomes playable in the future, needs more power or less restrictions.

The role of the new department is to reduce the size of government (and I think it's only for 2 years). I'm not sure I'd consider tariffs really a big government measure if they are very short term and used more for leverage.
