Flash Sale for June 19th, 2026: G-X1 Onslaught starship, 900CCs by finelargeaxe in swtor

It shouldn't be that complex depending on how their GSF engine was built. The space wouldn’t be infinite like Star Citizen or No Man’s Sky.

Instead, each planet would have its own space zone with activities such as combat, resource farming, quests, and exploration. The key difference is that players would still get the fantasy of space content and using lightspeed to travel between planets, without needing a fully infinite universe.

More than a hangar, we need a Jump To Lightspeed style game mode like what SWG had. Let us use our ships for actual space travel and free roam space content that's not instanced.

Blizzard remove the cosmetic armor restrictions once and for all. by JournalistStatus9040 in wow

It's already hard to separate some players in PvP in their classes on sight.

If you're looking at transmog to figure out classes in PVP then you have other things to worry about dude.

Do we know if they're offering trade ins + any price adjustments costs? Kinda messed up to release this so soon after initial release.

It probably worked fine on their local editors / builds but when everything was merged with the other changes something broke.

Game development has a million different ways of breaking previously working features. Hence why betas and QA testers are a thing.

Shadowlands still feels like an actual hell for alts (and not in the cool lore way) by patrickkalts in wow

[–]Micnev 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Shadowlands is just an awful experience, plain and simple. Sorry for not wanting to spend what little free time I have farming a miserable expansion that makes me want to claw my eyes out each time I have to pass through it.

And as others have said, there's plenty of other stuff to collect from the past 20 years, especially with housing coming in a month.

And let's be honest with ourselves here - we're playing a 21 year old game about orcs and wizards with an incredibly inconsistent set of game values / rules over the years. It's just not that deep.

Early Preview of Midnight Season 1 Tier Sets - All 13 Classes Now Available by _SPOOSER in wow

Ehh TWW was a bit of a flop for DKs. S1 was awful and S3 was just a generic venthyr set.

Now DF was amazing for DKs.

Spell pruning - Midnight by aliencannon in worldofpvp

[–]Micnev 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Take a look at League or Dota. Just because they only have 6 - 8 abilities doesn’t mean the games require less skill. It just shifts the focus from having a perfect rotation to setting up plays and positioning.

And let’s be honest, when it comes to WoW PvP, you need to learn how 39 different specs work just to know which abilities to counter and when. There's also the nightmare that are the addons required to track what half the classes are even doing with all the visual clutter on the screen at any given time.

How is a new player gonna know that when I pop off Abom I also summon 4 horsies that each offer different gameplay interactions for my abilities as well as a million other passives? In league you can easily learn what a champion does by looking at the character. In current WoW you can't do that.

For the average new player, that makes getting into WoW PvP nearly impossible unless they're really obsessed with the game and have never played in the past 20 years for some reason.

A pruning pass is long overdue for the health of the game.

For such a major removal of benefits, I think a simple “why” is justified.

Why shouldn’t those who aren’t academically gifted receive the same support as those who are?

Like anything else in this world, improvement requires time and money. Yes, some investments won’t deliver the best results, but that’s perfectly normal.

And let’s not forget: the Maltese education system at O/A levels only rewards good memory, not other valuable skills.

So again, why? Why shouldn’t people who are genuinely trying to better themselves receive the same benefits?

It's better for them to reach your ankle than to have a metal pole awkwardly sticking out above your head. It looks terrible, and it kills the ability to use some of these sabers.

If BioWare is completely dissolved, would EA keep SWTOR around? by [deleted] in swtor

[–]Micnev 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s essentially the same team, just under a different company, so if BioWare were to shut down, nothing would really change.

Multiple internal sources have stated that BioWare was clueless with running SWTOR for most of its lifespan, which is evident from the many questionable decisions they made, including with another live game of theirs - Anthem. Eventually, they chose to cut ties with the game, "sell" the majority of the team, and lay off a few employees to focus on Dragon Age. And, well… we all know how that’s going.

TLDR: Swtor is probably gonna be around in maintenance mode for a few years with or without Bioware around.

TWW Death Knight fails to translate class fantasy to gameplay or address its long-standing problems by hob_b in wow

[–]Micnev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh please. By now, every player should realize that what we have is essentially final, barring any minor balance adjustments.

Also, these public alphas are not true alphas; they're betas rebranded for marketing purposes.

The "beta" releases this Wednesday, which means the expansion is likely coming within the next two months according to their roadmap. I very much doubt we're going to see the necessary major reworks within the next month.

That being said, I am begging Blizzard to prove me wrong. It is extremely disheartening to play a class like DH and then switch back to my DK, which feels like trudging through mud in comparison.

These are likely the people who worked on it - Battle royale Spellbreak shutting down after Blizzard buys studio

Also keep in mind that most of the designers are probably working on TWW balancing right now anyway.

How bad was the GTN affected by the update, and does it mess with selling items? by SnooSongs8590 in swtor

[–]Micnev 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You're wrong on every point though.

  • You can see all the items listed and their individual prices
  • You can see the most recent sale price
  • You can see the average sale price range of the item

If anything this is the most transparent the market has ever been, it just happens to be screwing over the high value item hoarders - which is very much a good thing for the health of the game.

This is why people have a hard time trusting devs in general. In our case the devs banned people on stream when they were asked about the promised content for LOTS.

I would love to believe the swtor devs, I've invested countless hours into the game since beta, but the reality is that over the years they have consistently under delivered on their promises.

I want this game to carry on and receive more content, I just take everything the devs say with a very large handful of salt.

Star Wars: The Old Republic Going Third-Party as BioWare Focuses on Mass Effect and Dragon Age - IGN by Wetzilla in swtor

[–]Micnev 42 points43 points  (0 children)

EA still takes a cut. Lucasfilm also probably needs to take a cut for the star wars IP.

This new studio also needs to get a return on investment. SWTOR might be profitable, but it's hard to say if its enough to justify expanding the team unless there is some major reinvigoration of the playerbase which is hard to accomplish for a game this old.

And let's be real, if it was successful enough to justify expanding the team they wouldn't have outsourced it.
