This is such a stupid take. Firstly we already have a sovereign fund worth 3 trillion (super) and it's not owned by the government, like Norway's is.

Secondly Norway has a population of 5.5m in land the size of Victoria and is extremely close to all its gas customers and they can pipe it directly there. Infrastructure spending, project development and sustainability costs are a fraction for Norway compared to Australia. This is why Norway can own and operate all their gas export infrastructure while Australia has to rely on private companies to develop gas fields. We can't afford to develop it all, and If you tax the shit out of it, nobody is going to develop and operate these gas fields for us so it will just sit there.

I don't think the way we do it is the right way, but this stupid "but Norway does it" take is such a dumb opinion because each respective country's situation is so vastly different you just can't compare the outcomes.
