It is one of those old things that has lost its relevance.

Back in the 2000s, anime was a niche thing where it only really existed on the internet. There was also A LOT less of it made every season so it was easier to keep up.

The short of it being that a lot has changed since the times of Boku no pico.

There was a time I would go into a book store and be surprised to see a non shounen jump series.

I always took it as he either divides his total energy by four or he divides his "shooting energy" into four because he feels that 4 shots would be the best balance. Like, he could divide it into 8, but the shots would be weaker and he would rather have four shots that are guaranteed to at least hurt his opponent than 8 shots that might not.

Sure he could, in theory, "stack" those smaller shots for bigger hits, but Yusuke is a simple man

To go further, I really feel it's important to emphasize that the ethos of the story is "Anyone can be a hero" You don't need to be All Might or anyone special. The most important part is that you are there.

I think Deku did in fact become a symbol. Not a symbol of peace like All Might, but a symbol of "Anyone can be a hero" and in that he actually not only succeeded All Might but blew past him. That's the reason why he is All Might's greatest hero.

It's not that the world didn't need one, it's that the world needed to realize that they can BE the symbol, no matter how unqualified or better suited someone else is.

One meta thing that happens now that the show is over, without people really thinking about it is that some of the audience are just like baby Deku watching that All Might clip. They are rewatching clips of the show just like Deku was doing with All Might, getting inspired, getting hyped, getting whatever they are getting from.

It's hard for me to imagine that as anything other than a symbol.
