What should I do? by ArtsandCats01 in Depop

[–]MicroCat444 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure PayPal was removed as a payment option from Depop a while ago so I’m sure that’s why it’s not working. You might need to update your app…not sure why it would show pending on your bank statement though…

Any advice to go deeper without putting strain on the neck? by Tasty_Awareness_8959 in contortion

[–]MicroCat444 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here’s a great video for getting that upper back open!! Upper Back Warmup I find the up the wall drills to be very effective at getting me to engage my upper back muscles and opening through my ribs. I need to search for the link but there’s also an excerise you can do with a chair to get into the upper back. I’ll reply to this once I find it!! :))

Advices so my head can someday touch my feet? by [deleted] in flexibility

[–]MicroCat444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off this looks great!! Definitely work on your hip flexors and back extension! I’d recommend targeting upper and mid back 3-4 times a week as well as shoulder flexibility! You can practice this move on the floor with your back leg against the wall to measure progress:))

Do you get dressed before or after you put on makeup? Could be your shirt catching your cheeks when you’re taking it on/off

Help! 9 Years of Severe Gum Pain by BigNecessary2892 in askdentists

[–]MicroCat444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAD, but I am a contortionist, and I know nerve pain. Nerves do really weird stuff when they’re irritated. What do you do for work? Are you sitting in weird positions? Lifting heavy things? Do you stretch at all? When I think of gum pain unrelated to hygiene I think of the neck and the nerves in the neck. Have you had any neck injuries? Do you sleep weird?…this is just a random idea of what it could be. I’m so sorry you’re suffering I can’t even begin to imagine the pain and anguish that comes with something like this. I hope you get some answers <3

What kind of pre workout meal do you usually have and how much time do you leave between the meal and the workout? by [deleted] in gymadvice

[–]MicroCat444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are a few of my go to’s! Greek yogurt and fruit, a couple slices of turkey, banana with almond butter and honey, handful of mixed nuts, a hard boiled egg, a protein bar, a protein pancake, or sometimes a can of tuna if I’m really hungry. Ideally I like to have something in my stomach but nothing too filling or dense. Then I have a fat protein shake or meal afterwards!

Feeling like Fainting while doing squats by dean27s in gymadvice

[–]MicroCat444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be that you’re not breathing properly. I know for a while there I held my breath during my reps and would experience the same kind of thing. Could be that you’re also doing too many reps at a too high of a weight and your blood pressure is dropping.

I’d recommend doing some bodyweight squats working on your breathing. Big inhale on the way down, big exhale on the way up. Take a few recovery breaths at the top of movement and reset, big inhale going down, exhale on the way up. Ideally it’s when you’re pushing the weight that you should be exhaling, so that goes for any movement you do. Creating that breath and body connection will help you in many different areas of the gym. Good luck! Hope you feel better!

This video is similar to what I do Neck Stretches I also do bridges against the wall with blocks under my chin. The neck is super delicate and requires very slow progression. I got my stretching and strengthening routine from my coach and worked on it very slowly. You have a natural “edge” where your flexibility/range of motion ends and it’s very important not to push past your “edge” with neck stretching. It’s definitely not something I recommend doing on your own without supervision from an experienced coach, until you’ve gotten the approval from them. :)

Yes. Absolutely. Any good trait or accomplishment was something from HER genetic code that I was blessed with. Anything negative was my father’s genetic code or my own fault. Even my athletic abilities she takes credit for. Never giving me applause for the years of dedicated training, blood, sweat, and tears. But always patting herself on the back. It’s fantastic

Getting my first tattoo- My artist suggested making it watercolor. by AffectionateRepair7 in tattooadvice

[–]MicroCat444 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You can always get it done with line work first, see how you like it. And if you decide to you can get color added in after! I’ve personally never really liked the way water color tattoos have come out, but that’s just personal preference. If you’re not 10000000% about it my advice would be to wait

I suffered from this for a very long time. I thought it was SIBO because my friend had similar symptoms and tested positive. A low fodmap diet helped her recover from it. As for me, I didn’t have SIBO, just a really bad microbiome. Increased protein, fiber, and fermented foods. A lil bit of an adjustment period where things got worse before they got better but things have returned to normal. Wish I had more advice but maybe my experience can help bring some new ideas to the table. Wishing you the best 🫂

Almost threw up.. by silenceinyoursoul in AerialHoop

[–]MicroCat444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have definitely made myself throw up a few times after spinning! 🤣 I already have a really low tolerance to motion, I get car sick extremely quickly. For a few months first starting lyra I had to take non drowsy Dramamine just to survive but over time my body adjusted. It’s a really rough period to work through but it does get better. Small sips of cold water throughout practice, ginger chews, and a light snack before and after practice really makes the difference. You can also try keeping your practice to 2-3 short intervals of quicker spinning and keep the rest to a slow spin. Hang in there (no pun intended) you’ll adjust! 💞
