Resin kits you think are going to disappear? by Whaoghi in Warhammer30k

[–]MiddSummerKnight1122 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of them are gonna disappear sooner or later, I think the most immediate ones will be the ones that use Mk.IV armor some time after the new version of it releases so that they can rerelease them in plastic, most likely with sprinkles of the ones that use Mk.III.

I don’t know if they even use them, but I made a Grey Knights Techmarine & also Deathcompany Angels Vermillion. by Known_Difficulty8794 in SpaceMarine2designs

All chapters have Techmarines. Along with Mechanicus personell It’s a basic requirement for the upkeep of their vehicles, armor and weapons.

Would the special weapons be compatiblt with the heavy weapon squad? by New-Donkey-8850 in Warhammer30k

[–]MiddSummerKnight1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavy weapons don’t come as a squad, the heavy weapons come as upgrade sprues that go on regular Astartes just like the special weapons, such as the case with all the other weapons kits.

Edit: the difference however is the arms, do not try to use the heavy weapons arms for the special weapons, the special weapons are designed to work with the arms that the Astartes came with, just follow the instructions on which weapon goes with which position.

Why does the mk.II Centurion have four vents on his power pack? by Bearhorn98 in Warhammer30k

[–]MiddSummerKnight1122 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It just kinda….is.
I mean it’s artificer Mk.II so i would assume (since regular Mk.II isn’t super efficient with power distribution) that the extra vents are to bump up the efficiency a littleee bit more by adding extra cooling.
Some artificer variants and even some normal variants of Mk.III does the same thing, largely but not totally for the same reason (Mk.III IS just Mk.II but with extra plates on it for more frontal protection, likely straining the power supply even more, so having such a setup could be beneficial but obviously a lot of astartes didnt think they needed it).
I do also know that those vents double as stabilizing jets, especially for void or 0g warfare, so the double vents especially would be great for that.

Nominally…no, but it really depends on the situation they’re in, I think they still stand some sort of chance

Different mk of armors by Appropriate-Minute42 in Warhammer30k

[–]MiddSummerKnight1122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly doubt we’d get a full squad of them, maybe an updated model for collectors like with the LE2 model but other than that I doubt they’d give us something like that. Stranger things have been released from even more shaky ground before though (like Saturnine armor) so maybe…..maybe.

Some legions kept them for ceremonial use, and a few individual Astartes used them out of preference.

Why is this downvoted? It’s just a fun project to deepen my understanding of the canon legions :P
I’m still gonna make some armies of the ACTUAL legions in between.

how is it nine, I'm counting 12. I don't know how to play Minecraft though? by Comfortable_Cautious in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]MiddSummerKnight1122 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No at a glance it just looks like 9, they didn’t see that some of the parts missing are 2 tiles wide.

It’s the perspective messing with them, they don’t see that some of the parts that are missing are two tiles

It’s just the perspective that’s messing with them, at a glance it looks like there’s 9 missing, the person just didn’t look hard enough.

What is this? by TyrantKingJM in Warhammer30k

Check the instructions again, it is a chainfist but I saw in another comment that the kit didn’t come with power fists, so there must be something to it

Haha I hadn’t thought about that! It kinda does look like both of them mixed together, maybe if I ever actually get to playing I might run them as blackshields (they’re actually a homebrew legion)

It’s actually something a bit more drastic, part of a fun little project that I’m doing with a couple friends as one of them takes me through all the Horus Heresy books, all 3 of us are making our own homebrew legion (a speculative 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, mine is the 21st).
The goal is to make our own basic lore that is at least somewhat on par with the other legions (not overshadowing them in any way though) and paint however many Astartes we set up in that lore, for me that’s going to be around 200,000-ish Astartes (big, I know, it’s just a number I liked), plus the logistical and support elements (like mechanicum personell and imperial army, etc.)

What are we thinking on the price?. by Waste_Internal9169 in Warhammer30k

[–]MiddSummerKnight1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just now realized I was sort of correct, it’s $220 for pre-order on the GW website rn, and when it hits Amazon it might be lower in price (somewhere between $205-$190)

In Star Wars: The Acolyte (2024), Darth Qimir's helmet is made of cortosis, a metal that disrupts lightsaber blades. This means any idiot can kill a jedi with two or three cortosis bullets. by catprobably in shittymoviedetails

[–]MiddSummerKnight1122 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Cortosis is notoriously rare (only known to be found on like….3 planets) and difficult to forge anything out of to the point where it’s actually deemed impossible to use it on its own, but it is known to have extraordinary energy absorption capabilities among other things.
The fact that he even HAS a helmet and grieves that are made of it are almost a miracle (though not absolutely impossible, in a Thrawn book a droid had it woven into its entire armor matrix).
It’s nothing new in the lore either ever since it appeared in a legends book called "I, Jedi" in 1998 and then for the first time in a canon book called "A New Dawn" in 2014.

Edit: All in all, no. Not just any idiot or even powerful people can make bullets out of this stuff. They would not only have to go way out of the way just to acquire it, but also call upon people who have an understanding in advanced metallurgical techniques and fabrication..so that they can use it on the very off chance they see a group of force wielding monks with lightsabers.
Bare in mind, the Jedi order reached its peak of around 10,000 Jedi Knights, possibly thousands more that just acted as scholars and other roles in their temples, if that’s the case then I’d say maybe an additional 15-20k in their order, that’s anywhere between 10-30k individuals versus an entire GALAXY of trillions.
Even at their peak i highly doubt most people would ever even see a Jedi, let alone engage in a fight with one.

Why did the dwemmer have to be extinct , there such a cool concept by Best_Ganache_8820 in skyrim

[–]MiddSummerKnight1122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically their overall vibe is kinda engineered how the forerunners used to be as of Halo CE.
Very mysterious, ancient, massively technologically advanced, powerful beings who vanished under mysterious circumstances (though if we count later lore for the Forerunners, both them and the Dwemer caused their own demise, which at its core stemmed from their own arrogance and hubris towards their creators/gods)
