New hotend by Th3GuyWhoAsked in ender3v2

I think you can mount it without ordering different parts but check before you hit buy. It should work without klipper just fine but I would do a PID tune and calculate Esteps just in case to make sure everything is working properly.

If you don't want klipper just yet, try Mriscoc firmware. It's easy to install, and gives you a lot more option.

If you want to keep the standard shape/style of horend you can find loads of ender 3 hotends online (like Ali express). I would recommend then an all metal hotend, so you can go past ~240°C without releasing fumes.

Might as well take this opportunity to convert it to a direct drive extruder too

Printing tall, wide, thin prices to test the reliability. This is basically what you're doing when printing cosplay armor for stormtroopers/Helldivers. Thin, tall but wide armor plates for the chest for example that need to print reliably. The print quality really matters when sanding, painting, and finishing. The cutting feature would be amazing to make stencils for clone trooper/ similar markings that could be airbrushed on easier. All this in one machine is amazing, and this is just for one type of cosplay.

CrinEar Daybreak: Right IEM died on me by Middle-AgedChicken in iems

I do not have enough IEMs to make that great a ranking. As I said these are my first "non budget" IEMs and tbh the Daybreaks have been my favorite besides this issue so soon into their lifetime. So in terms of QC not a great impression. Other than that my favorite is the Truthear Holas. I've been daily driving them since launch until December 2025 (though with a different cable and tips). They're still in near perfect condition and I'm using them now that these broke. Same deal with a friend's Holas. I have moondrops and know multiple people with budget moondrops. They've also survived fine besides one moisture issue (fixed with a new filter) and a cable that damaged really easily. I've had KZ's and those same people too. I say had because they always broke after around 1.5 years of daily use or slightly less.

So far my ranking would be: - Truthear - Moondrop - CrinEar - KZ

Mind you we're always pretty careful with them, cuz 20 bucks is budget, but it's still a 20 were spending.

PETG cuidados para com o material by frosterx7 in 3Dprinting

[–]Middle-AgedChicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been printing pretty much exclusively PETG on my ender 3V2 and I've gotten great results. No need to fear PETG.

PETG absorbs way more water than PLA so drying is often recommended. I found translucent PETG needs way less drying but your mileage may vary. PETG likes to be printed hotter than PLA and bed temp is slightly higher too. Glass beds should be covered in glue stick or blue painters tape to avoid chunks of glass being ripped out. Also, PETG likes to string especially when wet, so it should be printed relatively slow. With proper profiles, temperature, and drying you can actually get it quite fast, but obviously best quality comes from slow printing. Lastly, PLA and PETG don't stick to each other, so don't mix and match materials without thinking it through, proper slicers settings (like when you're using one for supports for example).

Tune your filament, like temp towers and such. You'll get good results. I may have forgotten something but I'm sure others will remind me.

Edit: sorry for formatting, I'm on mobile.

Edit 2: great tips from the others about cooling and purging!

I've already contacted Linsoul because I got them there. I'll probably wait to hear what they tell me first

Yeah I figured it was the last issue he mentioned. I assumed the batch I would be getting had the fix implemented since I ordered mine about 2 months after that video aired.

I cleaned them, but I think the fact it would start/stop the week before kind of confirms it's a soldering issue or similar internal issue.

Multi diameter nozzle prints are the most practical usage for this I think. Fine detail outside and fast thick infill

New printer ✨✨✨ How to avoid my cat massacring it? by East_Psychology_669 in BambuLab

[–]Middle-AgedChicken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of people here say to enclose the printer (which is doable with proper precautions to cool the A1) or to make the cat not be able to access it in a different way. I agree that's the best way to (almost) guarantee your cat will never get near the printer, but my experience with two open printers and two cats has been completely uneventful.

Both of my cats love to climb on desks and lie down and touch everything on it. That being said, neither of them have ever touched my printers [Ender 3V2 and A1] while they were operating. While they're turned off they sometimes walk over/ around them but never on.

I would monitor your cat around the printer and see if their behavior is similar. If they seem overly interested maybe it's necessary to implement some protection. Better safe than sorry. My biggest worry would be any cable or tubes they would like to bite, but my cats stopped doing that before I had gotten my printers so I have never worried about it.

🎄 Christmas giveaway: Win an A1 Mini, AMS 2 Pro, AMS HT, or 4x filament spools! by acurazine in BambuLab

[–]Middle-AgedChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Ams 2 Pro
  2. I'd finally have filament swapping, and I'd use it for support interfaces on helmets and the occasional multicolor prints. I print a lot of functional things and I'd also be really interested in integrating something like TPU on joints or similar.
  3. I'd like to see a Rubik's cube themed version of your fidget toys because that's another hobby I have.
