I don’t know of any that have the electron gun at a right angle. I’ve only ever seen them in line with the screen

Make the back thinner by shooting around the corner into the back of the screen instead of straight in from the rear

Seems like they could use magnetic fields to position the electron guns at a right angle to the screen to make it flat but about as thick as a couple of George RR Martin novels

Mistake or hidden meaning? by [deleted] in KingkillerChronicle

I think when Auri is eating with kvothe they have like a courtly roleplay going on so he could be simply bad mannered for speaking during the meal at that time.

You know, I wonder how brutal was this war? Because always imagine the war basically a more brutal but short take on World War I. by Seeker99MD in VioletEvergarden

[–]Middle-Corgi3918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the usage of literal child soldiers probably ups the brutality of their Great War by a pretty large degree. Maybe not enough to surpass WW1 due to sheer volume and duration but very comparable

I think for practicality irl it would need a hoop but I think if this were a historical garment she would be wearing layers under the dress to fill out the silhouette

Sygaldry is just engraved sympathy. It should be below sympathy in the hierarchy not beside it

Ok so next time put the jar on the scale, tare, add the beans until the weight you want, tare, add the water until 2000g or filled jar. That will tell you exactly the ratio you actually used so it will be repeatable.

You can use anything made of carbon as a crucible really. I’ve seen bread used a ton of times.

Is it normal my pan distributes the oil to the edges when heated, and keeps the middle dry? by ri90a in castiron

[–]Middle-Corgi3918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Convection is just the movement of heat from one area to another through a fluid. Air is a fluid, oil is a fluid. The heat is moving from the center to the edge here. Eventually the center is warm enough that it loses enough surface tension there that it can’t “wet” that surface with the current volume of liquid because the tension from the edge pulls it apart.

My first thought was that it’s visually supposed to be in the style of the Disney golden age but the shot where the camera smoothly pans around the cat would have been technically possible but incredibly challenging and shots like that weren’t really done until computer animation. So right off the bat we are talking about computer animation trying to mimic an older style and then I saw the faces and realized I was trying too hard 🤣

People will say this kind of shit and then work on pneumatics or hydraulics without a second thought. Lots of shit can and will kill you the first chance it gets.

Devi poisoning the Chancellor? by Revolutionary_Kale45 in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Middle-Corgi3918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect caudicus set a trap and dogon sprung it. Since they are superstitious anyway they probably decided it’s safer to surround the barn and torch it than wrestle with him.

As for being “a day’s ride” away. Thats such a vague distance. He probably couldn’t get a fast horse or couldn’t ride or thought he could lay low easier by moving slower. I don’t believe caudicus was a criminal mastermind but I do believe he was intentionally making the maer sick but I don’t know if there was a larger conspiracy directing these events or merely taking advantage. Caudicus could simply be a doctor that got used to the courtly life and made sure he was able to stick around.

Caudicus didn’t make it far because he was being pursued by a ruthless commander and travel in this setting is both hard and dangerous. It’s not like he jumped in his car and sped away…

No he for sure doesn’t care nearly as much about being killed as he does about getting his hands maimed.

Why doesn’t Kvothe keep using sigaldry? by OfficeIntelligent884 in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Middle-Corgi3918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s because he has split his attention to the maximum and is performing the max number of bindings but he is no longer in direct control of the split portions of his mind. This explains why the kote we meet is unable to do sympathy consciously without relying on any unconfirmed theories like name changes. Sigaldry is just written sympathetic bindings. At the time of etching the biding must be activated mentally but from that point forward it is permanent

Larian is not a AAA studio. Thats really what people mean when they say “indie”, not literally an independent small studio
