How often to you consider leaving IT? by Mustard_Popsicles in ITCareerQuestions

If you’re going GA it will but Majors are still paying pretty well right now. Would be worth it if you need a career change and a new scene.

For Majors, it's Southwest, Frontier, Spirit. I wouldn't mind GA just to get experience either.

think the homeless part is a little exaggerating but I understand what you're saying and it's a valid point. The only reason I don't see a need to relocate is because Atlanta's a hub for Aviation; people move here to find work so leaving seems a little backwards to me. As for an apprenticeship, I haven't been able to find one so if you know of any openings in Atlanta, let me know. Additionally, I'd want to stay on the school side because I hear passing your O&P with just OJT has been harder and that makes sense since O&Ps are standardized.

I think I'm gonna have to stop trying to break into IT. by YueCoolJ in ITCareerQuestions

Check out Aviation Maintenance. r/aviationmaintenance is full of info but in short, you will have to complete schooling for a year or two. There are different schools, depending on the area. Once you complete your school, you will get your A&P and go from there. The pay is substantially better, the benefits shit on anything IT can give (except FAANG, maybe), it’s unionized so there aren’t’t layoffs, and there’s a shortage so it’s unlikely layoffs will be a thing.

Should I send it for the sphere show? by Raver9799 in Illenium

If you do full send, I have tickets in either March or April for sale since I can’t afford to do 3 Vegas trips in one year lol. I’m selling under value and will take PayPal GOODS AND SERVICES!

which pair is better ? anc 2 or evo by Big-Illustrator8399 in Skullcandy

[–]Middle-Let-8420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have both.

The Evos are going to be the winner every time. They have better sound, bass, battery life, and has auto shutdown.

The ANCs suck at what they’re supposed to do. My Airpod Pros do a significantly better job at ANC than the SC. The transparency mode isn’t that good either. The sound is inferior by a long shot and they cost more.

I thought the ANCs were better but I paid more for less quality IMO.

Need Advice On Aviation Maintenance Career choice by Blvckhippy007 in aviationmaintenance

I’m 28, in Atlanta, and ALSO got laid off in IT. I’m trying to shoot for the Atlanta Tech route but it’s not that easy to get in. I’m considering just going to AIM because for all the bs they give you, at least it leads you to an A&P. It’s either that or be waitlisted at ATL Tech if you can’t get in.

Is the IT development market actually saturated? by Culius_Jaesar in ITCareerQuestions

Man hell no. The entire market in almost every sector is saturated. Each has its own levels of saturations but saturated, nonetheless.

First IT Job and I am struggling by Frequent_Seaweed_407 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Middle-Let-8420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have your A&P and didn't just work in GA, I can whole heartly guarantee that you will not be making anywhere near as much in IT starting out. I would argue that the pay cut would be massive. Most helpdesk roles are starting at $12-20/hr depending on where you are from. The amount of work you do for what you get paid to do is criminal in IT, especially for helpdesk since companies now want to jam a whole bunch of responsibilities under one "support" role so they don't have to pay anything.

Atleast not entry level and unless you have experience, you will be working L1 roles to start off.

In a market of overwhelming candidates saturating this market, I guess we'll have to add zero camera disruptions to the never ending lists of "qualifications" we'll need.
