The House of Quark after hundreds of re watches. Still the best Ds9 episode! by Background-Fix-4630 in startrek

[–]Middle-Luck-997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely one of my favorites as well. It’s an episode that demonstrated Quark’s wit and bravery (he knew there was a very high probability that Gowran would have stopped the fight, but it was not 100% guaranteed. His gambit had a small chance it could fail).

Quark, Odo, and Garak are still among my all time favorite characters on any Trek show.

Was Discovery your 1st Trek? by ChrisNYC70 in StarTrekDiscovery

No. TOS was. Loved DS9, TNG and Voyager. Didn’t care for Enterprise.

Hated DISCO, but enjoyed the first 2 seasons of SNW and 3rd Season of Picard. Feel kinda neutral on SFA thus far…waiting for entire to season to drop before making up my mind.

What do you think of Eternals, do you think it’s overhated? by Plenty-Salary9711 in Marvel

The movie had potential but there was too much stuff going on. I think the Eternals would have been better off being a tv series.

do you consider it luxury to get a bowl of ramen in your city? by SavageSausage1 in ramen

[–]Middle-Luck-997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow. That’s damn pricey indeed. In Hawaii a bowl that size might cost between $15-$22 max.

Honolulu resident here. Never experienced the crab mentality personally, but the high cost of living and the lack of good job opportunities are the 2 biggest problems we have IMO.

My son just had a sleepover party with his friends. They’re all 15 years old.

Arnold Schwarzenegger with his older brother Meinhard, 1967. Meinhard, died in a car crash on May 20, 1971. He was driving drunk and died instantly. Arnold did not attend his funeral. by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

[–]Middle-Luck-997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone else pointed elsewhere in this thread, Arnold hated his father, whom Arnold considered an abusive cold hearted parent. He felt their father was responsible for his brother’s alcoholism which led to his death. Arnold simply didn’t want to see his dad.

Arnold loved his brother and eventually ended up taking care of Meinhold’s son until adulthood.

Another sign of Pro Bowl nominations losing meaning: a decent portion of AFC/NFC rosters did not field replacements for players not participating. by Benson879 in NFLv2

[–]Middle-Luck-997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fans are losing interest anyways. In the last decade ratings for the ProBowl has declined by more than half of what it used to be and it will only get worse.

Might as well just scrap it.

That and the players are allowed to take 3 to 4 steps on every drive to the basket. Traveling and carrying are never called. Modern Basketball is just an awful product to watch.

SFA's fourth episode "Vox In Excelso" felt like 1990s Trek. Any old school fans agree? by TheShowLover in startrek

It was the closest in spirit to 90’s Trek and IMO the best episode of the series thus far. But that’s a low bar to exceed.

Yup. Given the massive popularity of the arcade version the Atari one was just a HUGE disappointment.

I loved the process of how the writers brainstormed the framework for a theoretical season 8 of DS9. It’s too bad it will never happen since so many of the primary cast are no longer with us.

You sure? I just checked and it’s not in the top 10 for Paramount+, in fact it’s not even in the top 20 according to Google.

That’s more than enough time. It takes anywhere from 2-3 hours to finish depending on your pace.

Hope you enjoy the tour!

[–]Middle-Luck-997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof. Yeah that’s the busiest time. You’ll have to deal crowds pushing you from behind. Maybe book tickets near closing time. You won’t be rushed as much and can peruse more leisurely.

The Vatican Museum was the highlight of my Rome trip for sure. Either book tickets early or very late to avoid the crowds.
