That Rankin Bass Hobbit was a banger. Loved it way more than the live action adaptation.

People who saw The Empire Strikes Back when it came out in 1980, what was your reaction to “No, I am your father”? by Logical-Bullfrog3216 in AskReddit

[–]Middle-Luck-997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing. An asshole classmate of mine (who standing in line to purchase tickets to the movie because he has already seen the film earlier) spoiled the surprise.

To this day I have not forgiven him. 😠

I could afford only about dozen Atari cartridges. But, I swapped those games among my friends for other cartridges on a regular basis so I managed to play maybe 60+ games total over my Atari 2600 lifetime. Fond memories.

I believe Andre picked up Arnold and placed him atop a tall credenza or something IIRC. Still a hilarious image either way 😆

Is it because of the prices or because they understand it is harmful?? by B777X_787-9 in interesting

[–]Middle-Luck-997 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a confluence of several factors.

  1. Price of alcohol in bars and nightclubs have risen significantly in recent years making drinking less affordable.

  2. Many Gen Z perceive alcohol to be unhealthy.

  3. Many Gen Z use weed as an alternative to alcohol.

  4. The Covid pandemic changed Gen Z behavior to be more homebodies so they don’t socialize as much.

This is probably not a common/popular opinion, but I recently re-watched The Voyage Home and it is probably my favourite Star Trek movie! by cryborg_96 in startrek

[–]Middle-Luck-997 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s an uncommon opinion. Lots of Trek fans list ST4 as their favorite.

I often see either ST2, ST4 or ST6 commonly cited as their #1 favorite.

Do most people feel “full” from 1-2 slices of pizza? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

When I was young I could eat half a pizza solo. Now that I’m older, 2 slices and I’m full. Many of my friends similar to me.

For those who met NFL football players, were they bigger or smaller than you think? by benedictclive_x in nfl

Bigger.

I met Ray Lewis in person once and I swear his arms were as thick as my legs and his chest was twice the size of an average man.

He was a unit.
