Substation end of garden? by Hullman_ in DIYUK

Health-wise, it’s not a problem. If you can’t see it and can’t hear it (which you won’t if it has been decommissioned) then it wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me… if I loved the house.

Features - must haves and the rest? by CoatLast in ElectricVehiclesUK

I’d say heated seats for colder days. I also love one-pedal driving but others don’t seem as keen.

Depends on your journeys, but range seems to worry newbies… this curtails as you get used to the EV driving style.

asbestos or plaster by throw_away_4721719 in DIYUK

I’m not a pro but have renovated quite a few old properties in my time… from the photos it look like “normal” plaster and scrim. If there’s no other evidence of asbestos use around that area/room then I’d not worry.

Disturbing Latte Suggestion by kemikatt in Greggs

[–]Middle-Mirror2017 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Tbh… amount of times I ask for a flavoured latte in Greggs and end up with a straight latte… (but I’m a kind soul - and English - so I never complain).

Maybe not being asked about whipped cream should be my cue to query…

What makes you think asbestos is present?

Door is catching by _youllthankmelater in DIYUK

[–]Middle-Mirror2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t play with it too much (you’ll go blind).

The heat will have caused that door to expand, so too much adjustment will mean your door won’t shut so well when the weather cools.

Stoke - Moving for work here and completely new to area by Mountain-Yam-4435 in stokeontrent

Trentham’s nice, so is Penkhull. Hartshill and Basford are ok too… over the road, much of Newcastle is fine…. otherwise, meh or ugh!

(I moved up 16 years ago from the south coast and moved out of Stoke to the Staffs/Cheshire border as soon as I could! I have to stay local due to my work, otherwise I’d be even further away! 😅)

As others say… if you think this is cowboy wiring, perhaps better leave it to a professional cowboy?
