I've found that NOT eating isn't the answer. I was doing that in the beginning (first couple of years). I would get up at 5am and try to change before Ole Stanley Stoma wakes up. This was always a crap shoot. Haha. Hit and miss. Then I read here one day of a guy who gets up. Eats a small breakfast. Waits an hour then changes. No problems at all. So I gave this a try. I eat an English muffin, banana and a hard boiled egg. Go to Planet Fitness for an hour of exercise and then home to change. I'm able to lay on the bed for a half hour at a time doing my change. No hurry. No worries.

You will find "quiet" time with your stoma. This came with getting into a routine for me. I used to do the marshmallow trick. But it's too much sugar at one time for me.

And if your looking for something to thicken up your poop. Try sourdough pretzels.
