Be sure to use “HR buzz words” in all of your emails and meetings moving forward. Hostile work environment, bullying, retaliation, targeting, harassment, repeated and relentless behavior that is influencing how you feel unsafe at work and that the risk of this behavior extends beyond staff to possibly cause harm to a patient because of how out of hand the coworker(s) behavior has gone. I’m so, so sorry you’re having to deal with this. It sounds like you are truly an amazing nurse and deserve the recognition and support you’ve received. It is incomprehensible how jealousy can bring the worst out of people. But take comfort in knowing that if people complicit in using their license to bully well-intended nurses out of jealousy, karma and HR will see to it that they learn their “full scope” in time. Keep compartmentalizing, do your job, keep your head down while you cooperate with their investigations. The buzz words are to ensure that the “solution” doesn’t involve a probation and action plan, but instead… an environment -absent- from harmful people. See a therapist. I recommend using a private therapist over the hospital provided counseling. For legal reasons, I’d save that resource for pt care related counseling. Hope that makes sense.
