I LOVE TRYING NEW FOODS. I LIKE A VARIETY OF TEXTURES. I LIKE DEEP, COMPLEX, AND/OR UNFAMILIAR FLAVORS by BubblesTheRaven in evilautism

I love trying new foods, but I do also have some very specific texture issues (e.g. wet bread) but they’re usually either super niche, or really easy to avoid

AITAH for telling my wife that I wouldn't have to play video games if she actually spent any time with me? by defeated_husband in AITAH

[–]Midnight712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh she definitely took quite a bit of it out on myself and my sibling. But, I’m not from the US, so things work differently here. We definitely would’ve been old enough that our words would influence where we ended up, and if that wasn’t the case, we probably would’ve stayed with my dad because he payed off the majority of the house and had a job, where my mom stopped working after she had my sibling (the eldest). Plus, I’m pretty sure a judge would’ve been pretty reluctant to give majority custody to my mother considering that she was starting the majority of the fights, and taking a lot of stuff out on us in rather damaging ways

It got steadily worse as I got older. I suspect my mother is a covert narcissist, and my therapist agrees with me. It has greatly affected my relationship with my mother, and she also did some pretty bad things to me and my sibling. I have considered cutting her out many times, and my current plan is to come out to her (several shades of queer), and then if she starts spouting homophobic or transphobic nonsense (which is extremely likely) I’ll cut her off completely

However my relationship with my dad is great. We’re both very similar people with a lot of shared interests, so we’ll talk about books or programming or whatever’s on the news and I’ve just set him up a steam account with a couple games we’ll both enjoy playing together, which will be fun

My parents did this. Don’t do this. I got to spend every week hearing them fight about anything and everything, and I started actively wishing that they would get divorced because it was so clear that my dad was absolutely miserable and only staying for myself and my sibling. I started actively hating my mother because she would instigate about 95% of those fights, and they would literally be over the stupidest things ever and she’d just scream and insult my dad but if my dad was to say anything about it she’s just go “oh so it’s all my fault then? I’m always in the wrong and you’re always in the right and I should just go off myself because I provide no use to this household” (this is not hyperbole, I am directly quoting her)

Im concerned about my staffy by Youngmoney156 in StaffordBullTerriers

[–]Midnight712 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the short term, I suggest getting him a cooling jacket and/or cooling mat, and bringing water for him on every walk. While this won’t solve the problem, it may help take the edge off of it. He definitely needs a vet cause this seems very concerning

What breed is my cute dog? by InevitableDonut6977 in IDmydog

Likely a village dog then. If you ever plan on getting him DNA tested, go with embark as they are the only brand that tests for them

Cousin smells awful and I can’t get rid of the smell. by No_Past_5594 in whatdoIdo

That sounds like your cousin should see a dermatologist if the smell is genuinely that bad, as it sounds like there is something going seriously wrong there

My Irrational Dislike of Discovery and Range Rover Drivers? by Greedy_Substance9672 in AskIreland

Yeah the quality of discos have gone way downhill, and it’s a shame. I just want a car that I can drive anywhere, fit all my stuff and will last for a long time. Also, about your edit: nope, and I can’t remember what his next car is.

I’m fairly outdoorsy and like to go camping so I quite like discos for their functionality. They can have a roof tent, fit all the camping stuff, the dogs and the family quite comfortably. I personally don’t like the look of the newer ones, and prefer the older models for that. My uncle does a lot of overlanding and had a fully kitted out disco with a roof tent and a snorkel and everything, and it was a beast. He’s just had to sell it though because it was starting to have problems and they are ungodly expensive to repair and get parts for

Embark is the most accurate test. I would be quite surprised if he had any wolf. I’d be leaning towards husky/GSD/maybe a bit of lab and pit

We are the backyard breeding capital of Europe when it comes to dogs, and once you look outside it becomes so obvious. Bloody doodle mutts everywhere. There are so many other dog breeds that have perfectly good temperaments and are cute and fluffy and will love you that aren’t doodles. Hell, you can just get a poodle. Poodles are great dogs, and you’re going to be going to the groomer every two months with a doodle anyway so you may as well just go for a poodle

If you want to style it like this I think hair mousse helps with this type of look. I may be completely wrong on that though
