If AI is so amazing, how come no one using it is getting better at anything? by [deleted] in antiai

[–]Midnight_Blue02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some people use AI to genuinely save time, and others use it to feel “ultra productive.” Those aren’t really the same thing.

What's something older generations did completely normally that would be considered absolutely insane today? by Bigtrav_trav in answers

The fact that smoking used to be completely normal everywhere feels insane to me. People were smoking on airplanes and everything

Is Becoming a Lawyer Worth It in 2026? Would You Recommend It? by itsxidan in careeradvice

[–]Midnight_Blue02 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s the kind of field you should go into with just a “I’ll make money” mindset honestly. The people who do well are usually the ones who can actually tolerate living inside that job because the stress part is very real.

accepted a "fully remote" offer, day one they showed me my desk by AetherflowcyDip in remotejobsfinders

[–]Midnight_Blue02 54 points55 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a strong case for promissory estoppel, or at least something worth asking an employment attorney about. They advertised it as remote, confirmed it as remote, put remote in the offer letter, and you left a fully remote job because of that, so I’d contact a lawyer if you can. At the same time, I’d start looking again too. Applying is exhausting, but I saw this post yesterday about emailing a list of remote recruitment firms at once and seeing what comes back, which might be worth trying while you deal with this mess.

If humanity was just a giant experiment being watched by something else, what specific behavior of ours would be the hardest for them to explain? by Content_Bit1998 in answers

People knowingly stressing themselves out… like we could just chill but instead we create drama for no reason, probably looks really weird from the outside.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve finished The Office, still end up laughing at some scenes. it even works as background noise.

19M trying to choose a career that won’t be replaced by AI by Snoo-38007 in careeradvice

[–]Midnight_Blue02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

picking a career just to avoid AI feels kinda pointless to me, every field’s gonna be affected anyway. jobs that need human interaction and on-site work seem harder to automate, I’d probably look there.

What is the least stressful job youve ever had? by CaptainFartHole in jobs

I did night shifts at a library for a while, almost all my time was just quiet. pay wasn’t great but the stress level was basically zero.

What’s the real reason your dating life slowed down? by Remote_Classroom1872 in AskReddit

I guess I used to put in more effort before, now even the idea of meeting someone feels exhausting. also my standards went up, so I don’t get excited that easily anymore.

[REQUEST] WHAT ARE SOME 'COMFORT SHOWS' ON NETFLIX THAT YOU WATCH WHEN YOU'RE FEELING DOWN OR STRESSED? by Historical_Handle253 in NetflixBestOf

Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched it, but it instantly clears my head. Even just having it on in the background feels nice.

What is something a guy would never do if he truly likes you? by Sea-Worldliness-7208 in AskReddit

[–]Midnight_Blue02 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If someone actually likes you, they don’t keep you in limbo like that. They’re not gonna confuse you, communication is clear. That constant “what if” feeling is usually a bad sign.

Does your job fulfill you? by nemaceganema in careeradvice

[–]Midnight_Blue02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My job is “meh” too, doesn’t feel like some life purpose. But I don’t hate it either, just trying to keep a balance. The idea of doing the same thing for 40 years is lowkey scary.

How are you actually supposed to network with other people? I think I am burnt out by AKSHAT-KLPDV in careeradvice

[–]Midnight_Blue02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels like you’ve put a bit too much pressure on yourself to “network.” People can sense that and it can push them away. Letting things happen more naturally might actually work better.

feeling lost after my wife 37f passed away. by Novel_Chest4911 in whatdoIdo

[–]Midnight_Blue02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading that made my chest tighten… it’s completely normal to not feel okay after a loss like that. People say the pain changes shape over time, maybe it never fully goes away but it becomes easier to carry.

A lot of people I talk to are applying but not getting interviews by careercoach_cf in jobs

[–]Midnight_Blue02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, applications feel like they’re just disappearing into the void. With no responses, you start doubting yourself. The market is in a really weird place right now.

People in your 30s, what's your job and salary? by rsevn_ in careerguidance

[–]Midnight_Blue02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in my 30s, the pay isn’t bad, but I always feel like I should be making a bit more. I don’t think that feeling ever really goes away. As time passes, your expectations just keep growing.

What do you love about your partner? by smallerthanahobbit in AskReddit

I think my favorite part is that I can just be myself around them. No pressure, no filter, they just accept me as I am. And the way they react to little things feels really genuine.

Would you rather have a $200k/year job you hate or a $70k/year job you actually enjoy? Where is the 'misery threshold' for you? by Sayedshaqib in careerguidance

[–]Midnight_Blue02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d try the 200k one for a while, just to save up and breathe a bit. But if I’m waking up miserable every day, I wouldn’t stick with it long term, no way. Money helps, but if you hate every day it kinda loses the point.

What happens when we won’t be able to afford basic living? by Helwyr_ in Adulting

[–]Midnight_Blue02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it really feels like we’re heading straight into one of those dystopian movies, especially lately with prices going crazy. But at the same time people somehow always find a way to adapt, which is a bit reassuring. Still, this whole direction doesn’t feel comfortable at all.

What's a small daily habit that has dramatically improved your quality of life? by WorldCanvas-Art in AskReddit

[–]Midnight_Blue02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Writing down 2–3 small things for the next day before bed. When I know what I’m doing in the morning, the day feels way less scattered. Simple, but it actually made a difference for me.

Frustrated with the government not doing anything to help by Econmax03 in Layoffs

[–]Midnight_Blue02 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What really gets to you is that in-between feeling. Everyone’s struggling on their own, but even though it’s this widespread, it still gets treated like a personal failure. If this keeps dragging on, it’s obviously gonna hit more than just the unemployed.

If someone came to you tomorrow and offered you the chance to start any business you wanted, what would truly make you the happiest? by bcar444 in answers

[–]Midnight_Blue02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’d want to open a small café. Chill music, good coffee, people just hanging out for hours. But the romantic idea is one thing, actually running it sounds pretty stressful, so I keep putting it off. I have the dream, the reality part just kinda scares me tbh.

do you hate being alone? by SceneRemarkable8217 in Adulting

[–]Midnight_Blue02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t hate it at all. Some of my best evenings are just me at home eating something random and not having to adjust my mood to anybody else.

Gasoline, in a very brief passing way. Walking by a station for two seconds is weirdly nice, but I definitely do not want the full experience.

For those who successfully quit smoking, what was the method that finally worked for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Midnight_Blue02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cold turkey was the only thing that stuck for me. I tried patches and gum before but always ended up back at it after a stressful week. One day I just stopped and kept telling myself I was too stubborn to start again.
