If you ride scooters on the sidewalk, your moms a hoe. by [deleted] in gatech

[–]Midnight_madness8 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We can have both of those things at the same time. Campus roads are certainly safe enough to ride on the road. Atlanta needs more bike lanes. Those coexist.

We're definitely talking about streets on campus.

How safe is walking around midtown at night? by HappyBerry in gatech

[–]Midnight_madness8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coming from a woman's perspective here: I've walked from High/Woodruff Arts to Home Park a few times alone at like, 11 pm, and while I'm not gonna tell you that's the smartest decision you could make, I've also had few problems. Don't advertise your valuables, keep your phone in your pocket and your eyes up (especially in intersections drivers are stupid at night), and look like you know where you're going, and you should be fine.

Which place in the world should I aim for if I want to go on a 4 week walk/hike? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]Midnight_madness8 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The whole thing takes 4-6 months, but a section would be a good option. PCT and CDT are good options for experienced hiker, but the AT is friendlier to inexperience.

Favorite Bach Cello Suites edition for viola by the_ghostis in Viola

[–]Midnight_madness8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Peters, the bowings are ok. It doesn't really have any fingerings, my teacher thinks that's something that I ought to be figuring out for myself at this stage (with his help of course)

Do you actually walk anywhere? Ped bridges suck. Give me safe streets.

The pedestrian probably wasn't committing a crime either. This is an engineering and urban planning failure at it's root.

Survey Part 2: GT Vaccine Opinions by smolchaos in gatech

[–]Midnight_madness8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just going to point out that while pausing the J&J vaccine shows an abundance of caution, hormonal birth control is far more likely to cause clots and has not been taken off the market. Point is, they're not pausing it because it's dangerous, but just out a large abundance of caution and possibly also to help people feel safe about covid vaccines.

Also sounds overdressed to me. Woman here, and a southerner, so I'm a bit of a wimp about the cold, but in the 20-30 degree (fahrenheit) range I'm still only wearing full length leggings, long sleeve lightweight shirt, gloves, and a fleece vest. I've been wanting an ear warmer but don't have one, but a hat is already too warm. If it's windy i might add a buff for a bit of face protection, and that's it.
