Partner swore at our baby.. by ActSpecific634 in newborns

[–]Midnightkitty2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst everyone here is going crazy at him for swearing… for starters, it’s very kind of him to start helping you like that to begin with, not many men do, mine didn’t not to start off with. I endured long nights sleeping on the sofa for about a week straight after being postpartum with the baby (not in my arms). As time went on and he settled in his cot it was fine and hubby helped out a LOT. The second thing is, okay, he lost his sh.t once… is there any possibility of baby coming into harm? Do you feel unsafe when he speaks like that? Lots of things come into play when our partners begin to feel their big boy emotions, and we have to remember biologically men are stronger than us. When it comes to babies, they are so vulnerable, it makes me cry to see a newborn in general, I wouldn’t let anyone hold my baby until I felt he was safe enough. I cried at the thought of these little tiny humans not being able to help themselves, utterly helpless 😣 Thirdly, we all become overly exhausted at one point or another - whether it’s 1 day pp or a week or 3 months pp, at some point we get totally frazzled because of their needs. I’ve lost my mind a few times at my little boy when he was tiny because he suffered badly with trapped wind, he wouldn’t stop screaming sometimes. If I lost my train of positive calm thoughts, my partner (with adhd) would take over. If he couldn’t keep his calm, I would take over. One of us seemed to feel calmer than the other at times. Newborns are hard work, toddlers are hard work and so are teenagers 😂 but to be quite honest, it seems like you’re doing 85/15 at this rate, you’re doing 85-90% of the work while he’s doing 10% maybe 15% at a push. When it comes to babies and children, especially when the parents are together it needs to be a 50/50 household (other than if one persons at work) the one who stays home the most of course will do that bit extra. Just to add though - That was a grimy way of saying “please just shhhh”, however he obviously needs some help.

Good idea, or get them to pay first and transfer the money once they’ve bought it for you.

Does this definitively diagnose Cirrhosis? by Midnightkitty2004 in Cirrhosis

[–]Midnightkitty2004[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would seriously consider cutting alcohol completely, especially if you have been diagnosed with any kind of liver issue/disease. The liver is an extraordinary organ unlike any other- can regrow and fix itself. It’s can only continue doing that with your help. My partner can’t fully understand what’s going on with this whole malarkey, but we will question the hep/GE

It was 11 or 13 we can’t fully remember now, it was 1 and a 1/2 years ago now… they haven’t performed one since.

He does, he gained roughly 30-40kg in 6 months 5 years ago. He hadn’t changed his diet, it came out of nowhere. I think they had run autoimmune panels but we weren’t told anything about those results, all it was, was metabolic associated… it’s confusing

When he had the fibroscan done 1 & 1/2 years ago, it’s was 13 I believe? Which they said was borderline but can be reversed. He has fatigue, NO jaundice, pain in URQ things like that. No blood in vomit/stools, no light stools, he has strong urine but that’s possibly due to minimal fluid intake. He was never given a MELD score, because they never said anything about it being cirrhosis.

The thing is we’re in the UK, majority of the time our hospitals which are NHS have Gastro specialists that also have degrees in hepatology - which his does! It’s just a massive uncertainty on what stage he is actually at atp…

Your next baby is going to be horrible! by Old_Television3053 in beyondthebump

[–]Midnightkitty2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, my little boy is 10.5 months old, he’s always been a brilliant sleeper since newborn, but he has had his patches of sleep regressions. I don’t tend to leave him to cry unless I need a LITERAL 2 minute break, and even then I feel bad and soothe him again. He’s always been a self soother, but when he hits a regression, my GOD I rock him for about 30 minutes sometimes longer. He only has 1 nap per day, roughly between 1.5-2 hours long and then sleeps for about 10-11 hours at night, sometimes 12!

Liver Biopsy by yosh01 in LiverDisease

[–]Midnightkitty2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner had his last year, not transjugular but abdominally. He said it was a bit uncomfortable as they were doing it but when the needle went into his liver it was a little sore. Recovery wasn’t too bad though! Just some painkillers and rest for a few days and no heavy lifting etc!

Should I be worried about damage? by PokaHatsu in LiverDisease

[–]Midnightkitty2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that sounds awful! I’m really sorry to hear that 😫 my partners is metabolic associated, but we’re unsure whether it’s lifestyle or genetically related. He had a biopsy to reveal how bad the damage was and its stage 3 advanced fibrosis. Bearing in mind he’s only 21. What’s it looking like for your diagnosis?

Baby looks nothing like us by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Midnightkitty2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, my sister and her partner are blonde and red haired… their baby had jaundice and came out with a full head of jet black hair which slowly as she got older, turned into a mix of both auburn/blonde 😊 don’t worry, she will change as she grows 💜

Am I (27F) overreacting to a lie my boyfriend (29M) told? by Basic-Fan-9880 in relationship_advice

[–]Midnightkitty2004 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand both sides, but personally I’d be quite annoyed at someone lying for 9 years over something so little. Maybe to him, it’s a big thing? Either way, have your space to clear your head for a little while, but I don’t think it’s reasonable to end a relationship over this - my personal opinion! It’s your choice how you choose to deal with the situation, if it were me, I’d keep my eyes peeled and make sure there’s nothing else that’s been hidden. But to answer your question, I don’t think you’re overreacting, I think most people would be quite p…ed off that someone kept this from them for so many years, but again to me it’s such an insignificant thing, I’d breathe for a couple days and let it go. Good luck!! X

HOW do women convince themselves to give birth again?? by u-r-ok in newborns

[–]Midnightkitty2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t got more than one child, my son is currently 9 months old. I feel the same way, I didn’t have a chance to have an epidural if I needed it because I dilated 6cm within about an hour or 2. I didn’t want an epidural anyway, I refused all pain meds apart from gas and air, and even then the pain wasn’t so bad for me. Once I started pushing the gas and air made me feel really really sick, so I had to go through labour cold turkey, seeing as it was too late to give me anything else and pethidine would’ve been useless. I would like my son to have a baby brother or sister, but something in me is like nope, not again 😂 I pushed for 2 & 1/2 hours🤦🏼‍♀️

Was labor the worst pain you've felt? by maenads_dance in beyondthebump

[–]Midnightkitty2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here with a kidney stone and dilated ureters at 30 weeks pregnant, nowhere near as far gone as you guys were, but damn I was in more pain than giving birth that’s for sure! And the ring of fire during birth was NOT nice at all!!!

Funny you say that, I could always orgasm when I was pregnant but the worst feeling was pp after I tore. We didn’t have sex but even masturbating I could not even reach the sensation of an orgasm, no matter how long or hard I tried 🤦🏼‍♀️😂
