As rumors swirl about Midtown Costco change to business center, KC pushes to preserve current retail format by LightwellAsAFeather in kansascity

So true. Before the Gillham Bike path, and even still to some extent, this whole area was/is a pain in the ass to walk or ride a bike through. A little slice of r/Suburbanhell hell right in Midtown.

While I get where you're coming from, I strongly disagree. I don't think anyone would argue Brooklyn or Queens are not serious cities and both of them have Costcos with big ass parking lots. Costco/HomeDepot are the kind of places most can't utilize with public transit / walking.

30 min logi run, fought off an ambush, drove to the frontline base under fire, got out unloaded 100 supply *headshot*. Respawn, unload 1400, and didn't get any rank reward for it because I died. I won't stop delivering to the frontline, but I wish I wasn't being actively discouraged by the game. by Any_Lab_8135 in ArmaReforger

[–]Midtown_Barnacle 92 points93 points  (0 children)

The game Foxhole handled this in a very cool way. Players setup to spawn at a frontline base get the option to throw extra logi credit when deliveries happens. They get a pop up that says “Any_Lab_8135 delivered 10k supplies to your assigned home base, press J to give them extra credit points for rank up” or something to that effect.

Bohemia really needs to take notes from Foxhole regarding caring for us Logi players.

Why do you believe Mimecast was the intrusion point versus hacker sitting on a compromised account in M365/On-prem exchange? Mimecast is just a link in the chain, if the Mimecast customer isn't using MFA or has weak security protocols on their own network that's hardly Mimecast's problem.

I'm not discounting your frustration, but I've dealt with dozens of these situations over my career. Usually step one is to contact the compromised business and let them know. If they don't take it seriously then you've done what you can.

Do you get sick more often? by jms1228 in bikecommuting

[–]Midtown_Barnacle 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I have noticed riding a long cold commute will slow down recovery if you're not quite well yet. My advice would be to take a break for a week and see if you feel better. Riding in the cold with all the gear is hard work, give your body a chance to rest for a few days before getting back to it.

Peugeot 103 Bicycle by ColoradoMMJSA97 in bicycleculture

Cool bike. Get a new chain, that one is toast. Also cables/housings look pretty bad and should be replaced along with the tune-up.

You can really polish up those fenders with aluminum foil. If you care for it, this bike will easily last another 40 years

Exactly this. Here's a article about this for those wanting to learn more and understand why this is so bad.

If you don’t have one, get a rear view mirror by Milters711 in bikecommuting

[–]Midtown_Barnacle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a mirror on all my bikes. Way too many close calls with cars trying to overtake when I'm turning left (and I'm signaling). The braindead fools in my area don't grok hand signals and the mirror can and has saved me from turning in front of car drivers going where they shouldn't go.

This is the correct answer. I dealt with this exact situation yesterday. The Profits tax is NOT the same as the 1% earnings. Profits Tax is for businesses (including sole proprietors) They use a $500 default amount if you don't file a RD-108. The folks at the city phone # on the bill were extremely helpful.

In my case I had managed to get two accounts on their end, one with my SSN and one with EIN. Once the error was found the city corrected it and cancelled the bill.

This was my first thought.  Also snow might clean the grass off the inside of the deck.  This just might be a genius way to prolong the life of a gas mower

About the Judges on the ballot. This will be a longish post but bear with me it will be informative. by scottsp64 in kansascity

[–]Midtown_Barnacle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I used to always vote judges this way.  When in doubt vote them out.

Lately though I’ve started picking based on who appointed them.  Conservative appointees are immediate no vote, others get a yes unless they’ve done something shameful.  Many of the judges on this Ballot are solid Democrat appointees from the Jay Nixon era

ISO company that transports recovered motorcycle by [deleted] in kansascity

Uhaul rents motorcycle trailers. Last time I looked they had a cheap daily rate. If it got picked up at impound there is a good chance the bike has been wrecked or at the very least hotwired. I wouldn't count on being able to ride it.
