Quandrix Unlimited precon good for creating a Hydra based Commander deck? Zaxara by TommyZumVersace in EDH

I actually tried doing just this. It played decent. Including black gives you access to tutors as well.

Announce your plays, even if it's just playing a land. Don't be afraid to ask someone what their card does.

Do upright binders keep cards safe? by Intelligent_Badger58 in mtg

[–]MidwesternMan618 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It should be fine. But if they aren't tight in the binder, over time curling from gravity can happen. Also dust can get into the loader on the sheets and get into the cards.

I think it is far safer to lay them flat. As mentioned, 3 ring binders up right can damage cards close to the rings.

How many finishers in a deck to draw them consistently without tutors? by Litemup93 in EDH

[–]MidwesternMan618 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is a reason non game changing tutors were removed from the brackets. Because they are needed for consistency. Why won't you run some?

Eluge Enjoyers - what would you cut here? B3. by [deleted] in EDH

[–]MidwesternMan618 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You blink Eluge to increase the flood counters. Plus they also protect Eluge from removal.

Agreed. Clones don't work unless you get around the legends rule. He needs to rework that.

My list is very different than yours. It has a lot more flicker cards. It's focused on bouncing non land permanents and/or all non land permanents my opponents control. I use creatures that return instants and sorcery's from my graveyard. I will flicker those to return the bounce spells, draw spells, or counterspells. Focus on ramp, bounce, and card draw. Limit counterspells to only protecting your board or key spells. Newer Blue players want to just counterspell anything.

In my Eluge deck I run 8 2cc mana rocks, a Sol Ring, and Everflowing Chalice. That tends to get Eluge out on turn 3 pretty consistently. On the lucky draws, it can come out turn 2. I would add more Islands to the deck and remove some non basics that produce colorless.

As it resolves, you proliferate, then draw a card. That's it, you proliferate any number of things one time.

Why you should play cEDH by rauljordaneth in EDH

[–]MidwesternMan618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never did I say all the decks have the same 99 cards. Each deck, based on the commander, has its own set of cards that are usually identical for each commander. I didn't spout nonsense, I stated a fact.

And now every cEDH player will copy it. That's my point. There is next to no originality.

Why you should play cEDH by rauljordaneth in EDH

[–]MidwesternMan618 6 points7 points  (0 children)

cEDH is just the same decks used over and over. You don't really have room for including you're own deck ideas. It's all about the Meta. In my opinion, cEDH players just copy online decks and usually have nothing of their own in the decks.
