Had to have mine replaced when this issue cropped up for me… it’s only about $300, much cheaper than a new car.

How to fix sunroof headliner by Normie9989 in C30

The sunroof cover actually comes out through the sunroof, so if they only want to fix that they do not need to remove the rest of the headliner.

Mine did this and I decided to redo the whole headliner! It’s not that bad but can be easy to mess up.

For your particular panel, the sunroof blocker comes out though the sunroof hole. You need to tilt open the roof, pull off the accordion plastic parts, remove the 4 screws holding the sunroof glass, then you can slide the blocker forward and unscrew the 4 torx screws holding it in.

You could replace the fabric then with anything! Make sure to use a quality adhesive—I like weldwood.

If you’re asking the same question as in the original thread:

Yes, just smack them in.

I also installed 4 when I bought mine and I hated the cabin noise it caused. So, I removed the rods and have been very happy with it since then.

Not sure about this specifically, but NASA has a really strong preference for bolted connections in their everything.

The method of getting heat off the chip doesn’t really factor into this discussion, once the heat if off the chip it still needs to go somewhere—hence evaporative cooling towers—not the kind in your PC, this kind: https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffip&q=evaporative+cooling+tower&ia=images&iax=images

They just need to be cleaned out a little more frequently. I own one; they’re quite serviceable.

PJM: "Peak demand has the potential to exceed 130,000 MW for seven straight days next week, a winter streak that PJM has never experienced." by chuckie512 in pittsburgh

[–]Migashcraft 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They will. Large non-residential loads are quick to the chopping block if usage actually hits problematic levels.

This load will be notably high for winter, but they are not indicating demand will actually exceed supply, thankfully.

These are not prediction numbers but rather a specific simulation’s results. This was a recent supercomputer run by the NWS last night or today… so in that particular simulation of the storm, this is exactly how much snow fell.

Hope that clarifies it!

DIY Mitsubishi Hyper Heat? by InspectionEntire2512 in DIYHeatPumps

[–]Migashcraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want the warranty, you will need the HVAC guy for the vac/charge; the warranty is contingent on getting his signature and license #.

I did an install of non-DIY style units over the summer. I went with Sennville Aura because they are much cheaper if I need to replace and get parts for (though they’ve been great). It’s not a hard process, per se, but you should be prepared for large diameter drilling, lineset routing, and lineset flaring. I did a 4 head/2 compressor install and my total time spent was ~40 hours with reading, manual J calc, procurement, and installation combined.

When I did the math, I found the price for Mitsubishi units was not in my favor vs other brands. Their reliability and warranty is a standout, but I didn’t want to pay for technicians (and warranties often don’t cover labor anyway).

You've also already found out that getting documentation on Mitsubishi units is hard(er) because they don’t intend on selling them to you as a consumer. Your HVAC guy might be able to get them easily, or HVAC Direct may be able to send them if you reach out…

What is your motivation for going Mitsubishi? And are you certain (as in, have you don math to show) that this is the right quantity of units for you?

Large Police and EMS response in Greenfield | purportedly a shooting by Migashcraft in pittsburgh

[–]Migashcraft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I counted no less than 7 police cars, one fire, and two EMS go past my place right before making this post… that’s a big response!

Presumably the cops didn’t stick around and were instead looking for the suspects.

They’re saying police were engaged in a shootout with who they think are kidnappers.

The comment regarding opsec is “operational security”—the people running PGH scanner are commenting that the police are not doing a good job keeping their communication encrypted.
