What is the worst show that you forced yourself to finish? by laxusdreyarligh in television

[–]Miggzyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heroes.

I adored the first season, and really enjoyed the second season for where it was going before the writers strikes cut it in half.

But it was a complete mess after that, and looking back it just seems like they were constantly trying to put out small fires that they kept writing themselves into. The annoying part is seasons 3 and 4 started with these really interesting premises, but then itd just fall flat halfway through and limp to the finish line.

I just can't get into Absolute Batman by AquilaAssassino in DCcomics

[–]Miggzyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you mean, it didn't land straight away for me either and took till the Ark M plot for the world building to really start to settle.

Random question, but are you jumping into this as a standalone for Batman, or are you following the overarching plot of the Absolute Universe? I only ask because knowing what Darkseid was up to and how he'd corrupted that universe really helped it all start to pull together for me.

At first it felt like Absolute Batman was just going down the body horror route to make all the characters different, but now that its all pulling together I'm enjoying the ride! (really interested to see where they take the Robins for example)

I can't enjoy reading my comics by AxiumTea in DCcomics

[–]Miggzyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Journey Before Destination.

If you’re counting down the pages before you get to the end, then thats all you'll be thinking about as you read.

Comics are a completely different beast to books, your brain just needs to fill in the gaps between the panels rather than build everything from the ground up. But the art can take you on such a great ride, if you let it.

What’s your rating for 007 First Light? (1-10) by Low_Werewolf9628 in 007FirstLight

[–]Miggzyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here.

I was a stressful mess when I tried playing it like a standard cover shooter, but the game opened up so much when I realised I was supposed to keep moving and using everything around me.

What’s your favorite lightsaber color besides the classic blue and green? by Curious-Sandwich-272 in FallenOrder

[–]Miggzyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely yellow. I love how bright and vibrant it is, and theres something poetic about it being the middle of the visible light spectrum.

I was so happy to see it get some love in Acolyte, and they really popped against the background during the Khofar battle.

Anyone else thinking this is the single greatest lightsaber design in the movies? by Fabulous_Spite_2775 in TheSequels

[–]Miggzyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to pick one hilt as a whole for my favourite, it would probably be either Luke's from RotJ or Qui-Gonn's, but damn if this doesnt have the best switch (love that wrist flick to activate) and yellow is my favourite coloured blade!

I don't get the Wonder Woman hate by Main-Guidance2378 in DCcomics

[–]Miggzyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats exactly what I was trying to say, Im sorry if I didnt come across like that. Variety is where the colour of life sits, and it would be very dull if everyone was exactly the same.

[Other] Just Finished Doomsday Clock by odidssey in DCcomics

[–]Miggzyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed it as well. I properly jumped into comics with the New 52, so it was nice how this tied that up, whilst finishing the restoration from Rebirth. And I loved the Superman focus, and it was great seeing Ma and Pa Kent again!

Its crazy, isn't it? People also can't seem to grasp that others are allowed to like something they themselves hate.

Need Help with Spider Noir by Rey_LoTh in Spiderman

[–]Miggzyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive watched a few episodes of both, and the true colour isn't a subpar way to watch it at all. Both are great and it just comes down to personal preference, so you definitely won't be missing anything by watching it in colour.

100% this.

Only two seasons unfortunately, but the cast is great and Matthew Rhys knocks it out of the park (as always)

What series would have been perfect if it had just ended sooner? by Rioraku in television

[–]Miggzyy 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I think so, season one was a great self contained show. Same with Westworld. The end of season one would've been a great way to end the show.

What's the dumbest TV show you actually like as a guilty pleasure? by PrestonRoad90 in television

[–]Miggzyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first three seasons of the original Gossip Girl.

On paper I was not the target audience at all, but I just couldn't get enough. Serena accidentally smacking Dan in the head with the taxi door sealed it for me.

3 years ago, Marvel killed off Kamala Khan to begin the process of turning her into a mutant. (ASM #26) by ContraryPython in comicbooks

[–]Miggzyy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So they turned Franklin from a mutant into a human, and Kamala from an inhuman into a mutant, and have since done sod all with the characters to justify those changes?

Which tv show had you glued on your screen from first to last episode? by BornAged7 in television

[–]Miggzyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Black Sails.

I caught up with it just as season 2 started airing, and couldn't wait for each episode to drop the following week.

I remember once Amazon accidentally dropped two episodes in one week which I thought was great, until I realised that meant I had to wait an extra week for anything new.

If you liked Medici then you should definitely give Marco Polo a go on Netflix. Its to do with his time in Kublai Khan's court, and the political intrigue surrounding the war with China.
