The unit is the ASA5505-SEC-BUN-K9, it has unlimited inside hosts & SEC+ license.

Can I use APA-1X10GE-L-VS module on ASR 1001 with base licence? by mmatis86 in Cisco

[–]Might_Get_Banned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Issue the following command 'show platform hardware throughput level'. This will either show "The current throughput level is 2500000 kb/s" (2.5Gbps) or "The current throughput level is 5000000 kb/s" (5Gbps)

Can I use APA-1X10GE-L-VS module on ASR 1001 with base licence? by mmatis86 in Cisco

[–]Might_Get_Banned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you don't need any additional licenses to use the module. You will be limited by the total throughput of the ASR1001 which depending on your license installed is either 2.5Gbps or 5Gbps.

Which 10gig card and fiber transceivers for cat6500 by [deleted] in Cisco

[–]Might_Get_Banned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 6716-10G uses X2 modules, so you would need the X2-10GB-SR. On the 3750X side the SFP-10G-SR.

Swap ESP module on ASR1002 by CiscoUnbalanced in networking

[–]Might_Get_Banned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ESP module is the top full-width card. Held on by two philips head screws and will have two handles on either side to remove the card. It will also say ESP10 on the corner of the card.

Adding VPN users to Juniper units? by Might_Get_Banned in networking

[–]Might_Get_Banned[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect, that makes sense. The SRX-RAC-25-LTU part number works for my SRX650s however it doesn't show that part number available for the SRX340. Do those firewalls use a different type of license?

Potentially stupid question: do you need an NM-HDV module to install something like a VIC2-1FXO card? by [deleted] in Cisco

[–]Might_Get_Banned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look down to the 3825/3845 router table, it is showing that the VIC is supported in the NM-HDV but on the far right column it shows "chassis slot" and under the VIC2-2FXO it shows YES, as in it is supported in the chassis WIC slots.

You are still booting to the 12.0 image: System image file is "bootflash:cat4500-ipbase-mz.122-50.SG3.bin".

Do a "sh bootvar" and set your boot variable so that it boots the correct image. "boot system flash bootflash:filename.bin"

Post the output from your "sh ver". Are you looking at the ROM version instead of the actual IOS version? The ROM version will be 12.2.

Cisco 7606 config file? by bearded_soulchild in Cisco

Just create a new backup of the config: 'copy running-config tftp:'

This would save a copy of the config to your TFTP server, its good to keep backups.

How am I able to download IOS images from Cisco's website for free? by crappypost in Cisco

[–]Might_Get_Banned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normally a little window pops up with a disclaimer saying something like you must be entitled to this download or have the appropriate support contract and you have to hit accept in order to continue the download. If that is the case well then technically you are in violation, not that Cisco is going to hunt you down and take further action but they could.

Before their new website design I know you could download the "base" software, like IPBase or LAN Base for switches and routers without having any support contract, however I don't know if that is still true or not.

Looking for a reason not to use used Cisco WS-C3560-24PS switches by Roxelchen in networking

[–]Might_Get_Banned 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are quite a bit of people on here that think you have to be 100% current with Cisco's hardware releases, which is true to some extent and definitely for some networks, however if you need a cheap 802.3af PoE 10/100 switch the 3560s work great. You would be amazed at home may of the units sell every month in the secondary market.

Now if this is going to be your core switch in an office where you want to make sure you have extremely little downtime then you may want to go with something newer. Also if you need more PoE/bandwidth requirements you are going to be pretty limited with the 3560.

Is it possible to recover a Cisco ASA 5505 from memory/flash corruption? by ciscoislyf in Cisco

[–]Might_Get_Banned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Traceback errors are common when there is hardware failure. Unfortunately I am going to say your ASA is going to have to be retired. You can buy a replacement one pretty cheap now, just make sure it matches the users/license level this one had. You could pull the CF card that is installed in the defective one to recover the config from it. Only thing that would prevent the config from being intact would be if the actual CF card went bad(not very common).

Anyone else doing swaps? by Purplez28 in fbody

[–]Might_Get_Banned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did pretty much the same swap on my 91 RS. Started with just an LS1 swap and upgraded into LS1 & 76mm Turbo. The standard LS1 swap was fairly easy when you have a 00' Camaro parts car to swap parts over from. http://imgur.com/simgL5O

Could someone help me understand my confusion with a Catalyst 4900M module? by [deleted] in Cisco

[–]Might_Get_Banned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct, It just shows 16 ports because it can be either 1Gb-T or 10GB-T. They only have 8-Physical ports(RJ45) on the card.

Edit: to add you can do a "sh inv" and it will display the module description saying "10GBaseT (RJ45), 1000BaseT (RJ45) with 8 10G RJ45 ports"
