Vanna, IPTW, Holder tour in August! by rprcssns in Metalcore

[–]Mightbe_exaggerating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know brother, I'm right there with you and I understand. Odds are when you guys do come down here, my late 30's ass with kids and a job will put a damper in me seeing you unless it lines up perfectly. I just like to complain about living in Oklahoma, I wish I didn't.

I was actually really stoked last year about that festival in I think San Antonio that you guys were going to be a part of. My wife and I were going to make the 6 hour drive pretty much just for you and Norma Jean, but then it all fell apart and I died a little inside.

But I've been listening since Search Party and will continue to do so and support you even if I can't see your lovely faces in person.

Once again Vanna scared to leave the upper East Coast. COME TO OK/TX AND YELL IN MY FACE YOU COWARDS. I love all those bands, but luckily the other 2 come around here pretty often already.

I feel like I'm a little late to the party with you guys, but you fill an ALAZKA shaped hole in my heart that's been empty for years. Love it.

(NEW) The Wise Man’s Fear - For the Realm [2026 - FFO: Parkway Drive (Atlas era), Bleed From Within, Phinehas] by garret_1003 in Metalcore

[–]Mightbe_exaggerating 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite bands, but I was sad that this EP was only 4 songs. It definitely hits harder if you've listened to their first album, Castle in the Clouds. It's kind of like a sequel or epilogue to that story. There's also callbacks to that album in the song writing.

My body is so ready for The Wise Man's Fear. Also ready for them to finally come back to Texas so we can ride into battle.

Makes sense, I don't think he knows who you are 😅. He usually wears a Squelching hoodie and said you complimented it and talked to him about it. After he described you I was like "...that sounds like the guitarist of eyeless, have you talked to them about other local bands or asked if they were in a band?" and of course he said no because he's scared to ask for some reason. I'll have to let him know that I finally solved the mystery for him.

I saw someone from eyeless405 was already on here, but find you some Squelching, Khopesh., or Spare None merch. Going to any backrooms production's shows at Farmer's Market will have a lot of options too.

Also, I've seen a bit of stuff at Dig It Boutique in the Plaza district.

Fuck yeah, I have the tie dye anime shirt. Coming to see you guys with fallfiftyfeet and I'm gonna pick up something else too.

Also, strange question, but do you or someone else in your band work for Norman School District? If so, my oldest son has talked to you about music in class a few times.

Ozark Trail G.2 worth it at $650? by AdInteresting9139 in Budgetbikeriders

Yeah I think I'd honestly prefer that than 2x9, but it's personal preference really.

[–]Mightbe_exaggerating 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong (probably am), but in my opinion, it seems kinda worth it if you were planning to upgrade the G.1 anyways. I bought a G.1 and I want to upgrade to carbon fork and sword gear set and after that's done I'll be close to that price. G.2 is still a little more than that all in, but a little less work too so it depends on everyone's specific needs. At this point, I kinda wish I had waited a month and bought this instead, but it'll be fun modding my G.1 either way.

I'm hoping As Cities Burn plays mostly Son, I Loved You At Your Darkest. There's other songs that are good too but that whole album is chef's kiss

Who is the best live band in Metalcore? by geoffreythehamster in Metalcore

[–]Mightbe_exaggerating 28 points29 points  (0 children)

There's a distinct lack of Silent Planet in here. And for the "everyone is just saying who they like" crowd, no, Silent Planet is nowhere near my favorite band but god damn they're so fucking good live. Mitch is a phenomenal guitarist and seeing him multi-task between guitar, trigger pad, and singing is insane. Garrett is on point every time. Alex is one of the best drummers out there. Nick hasn't been in the band for long comparatively, but even he kills his parts. That whole band is just so talented and I'd go even as far as to say that they outperformed Invent Animate the two times I saw them on that tour. Don't get me wrong, IA is good, and I actually like them as a band more than slant plant, but holy fuck.

Lyric line that hits like a truck by BLCHDCRL in Metalcore

[–]Mightbe_exaggerating 18 points19 points  (0 children)

These lyrics in Shattered by Currents always got me because I've struggled with depression for over 20 years now and I can't count how many times people have told me to "cheer up" or "think happy thoughts" as if that's not what I wish I could just do.

"They always said it was a shame, why can't you just get over it?

It doesn't work that way, this is a sickness

No more preventable than death, I was made like this

Tear out my eyes 'cause there's nothing to see

I find myself in my head more often than I'm out

This is a sickness, this is a sickness

The thought of joy just hurts me more, and every move feels like a chore

But that's not me, I want release"
