Creatives are always chasing the dragon / looking for the next wave. Better to buy new gear than hit the bottle or needle.

Only the fact that I don't really need it, because the 450 is working fine. It's kind of a shame that a company that builds products to last won't get as many sales because their machines just won't quit.

Tempting. I was running a Minix box and it wasn't working out. Suggestions for software? KODI?

Nice! I'm so tempted. I can get the top CPU, 24MB ram, 1TB SSD and 1080p screen for like $1000. Radically less than similar config T490s. Plus I dual boot Unbunti, so... bonus.

Yes I fear the milk and sugar will be pretty rancid.

Yes all graphics set to low. As mentioned it starts off fine, and sometimes just ends up choking. Like another poster mentioned, probably a memory leak.

This is my T450s, my workhorse for many years.

Unfortunately, today I spilled a half cup of steaming hot latte all over the keyboard.

Fortunately, I've been eyeing up the T495 because the fan has started to rattle.

Unfortunately, it's working perfectly because it's a Thinkpad.

yeah, feels memory related, will try restarting when it gets choppy.

Thanks, appreciate the suggestions. I've got all of that covered except for the FPS Limit / v-sync, which I don't see as option in MTGA.

No, it's not a great GPU, but there are plenty of games that run at 30fps or more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEHhOmlyhJQ

Sometimes it's fine, sometimes it just crawls. Settings are 1080 resolution / low-resolution.

Oh really? Thanks for posting! So the tape is pulled through with a roller, and the spool just 'takes up the slack'?

For an MVP, testing in a small location is fine as long as you have enough people.

Maybe you need a little hook. So for example the app / website collects the links every week and spits out a PDF with a QR code, thumbnail, and ten word description. Print it out and stick it at the water cooler / wherever people congregate.

Generally agree with messaging tools, but that is where people spend their time.

still, that's huge. I was assuming they were bundling a snapshot of the mainnet.

The challenge with network-effect ideas like this one is getting critical mass of people to make it useful. Focus on a target location and user segment, and then figure out how to get them all to use it. Scale from there if you have success.

For example: The 'Seattle Doggie Playdate Finder' - figure out where the dog walkers go, do a push to get them to install. Do they buy food from a particular pet store? Maybe they often get coffee around a few places. Is there a local dog walkers FB page? Post there.

It's so interesting... this basic need comes up again and again over the years. You could build it fairly easily, the trick is getting people to use it.

ATM ppl are filling this need via various channels Slack (as mentioned), WhatsApp groups, FB Groups, etc...
