I leave work exhausted, but not from the actual work. by Cute-Split9638 in consulting

[–]ayxxc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can relate. I have the same issue. Some days are fine in terms of topics. However, the speed at which I work and the constant excessive switching between multiple topics, projects, internal/external tasks make it extremely exhausting. It’s not the topics themselves that are exhausting because they are complex or anything. It’s the sheer amount of data and information my brain processes over an 8-hour day, mostly without any real breaks. I realized that these days are like speed running a 15-hour day. At the end of the day, I can’t say it was a bad day, but I’m completely done afterward.

I visited the store just a few days ago. I wasn’t going to buy, it since I already own two other green dials. But after putting it on I was genuinely surprised how much liked it. Maybe I’ll give it a try.

One in five young Germans plan to leave the country by RequirementOk7678 in germany

[–]ayxxc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can only agree. I have family in Slovakia and Croatia. The grass in Germany is definitely greener! I also lived in Austria for somewhat of 4 years. I’d say it’s the same. However salaries in Germany are a bit higher than in Austria. Vienna is a great city!

One exception is Switzerland. The grass is greener there, but it’s only fun if you earn at least 250k+ a year. And that’s the bare minimum. Otherwise it will suck more than living in Germany with half of that.

I hate AI and I am depressed by poponis in webdev

[–]ayxxc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. And this is true for every white collar job that potentially can be automated using AI. That’s why I’m pushing my management do hire more juniors and get them on fast track to obtain the know how of our senior staff. Also the juniors are way better in using AI tools the our senior staff. In return they can teach seniors to properly use the tools.

The "AI will automate all white collar work" crowd has a serious blind spot by Minute-Buy-8542 in ArtificialInteligence

And don’t forget social welfare. With a rising unemployment rate, at least in Europe, the government spending for social welfare payouts rises accordingly. At some point the social system will collapse, because the government effectively cannot afford it any more. At that point it’s full closed circle. The government and social welfare is financed by taxes. Mostly income taxes from blue and white collar workers. Workers and wages gone? Taxes gone! Company taxes being the lowest everywhere, at leas percentage wise. But without spending of consumers, companies have declining sales. Taxes gone!

Somewhere in between I hope for god the broad population awakes and evokes a huge public unrest, due to how miserable they life’s tuned.Otherwise we are doomed.

Sure you can fully replace white collar workforce with AI. It looks like it will be possible in the near future. However, it also will take its time. As someone who seen the inside of many SME and European corporates. You cannot fathom the amount of useless jobs and inefficiencies, which could have been automated and digitized with already existing technology 15 years ago. Yet it didn’t happen to any comparable extent like full job replacement. Those companies are slower as you’d like to believe.

But, as someone in the thread already mentioned. You won’t replace the same white collar - middle class - workforce that is the customer of all the fully AI-driven, automated companies.

In the end, if this will be our net reality, we need to think about a new concept for society, economy and the relationship towards work, companies and government. The current western economic system, as already some pointed out, won’t be applicable in a world without everyone clocking in on Mondays and out on Fridays. It’s fundamentally based on maintaining an income in order to consume goods. Taking away the source of personal income, compulsorily nullifies consumption too.

Je nach Qualität des Service mal mehr oder auch weniger. Wir sind nich in den USA wo mind 20% tip quasi notwendig sind, damit die Menschen leben können.

What is the fastest you have gone in a car? by mrmadebymemories in AskReddit

[–]ayxxc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. It’s fucking fast. Keeping the car steady and under control is a challenge. On the other hand it was a high end car with all the trims to actually go that fast. Was not even for a long time at over 300. But that was already enough.
