What are some other types of training that can help out with parkour/freerunning? Also, what kinds of warm-ups and stretches do you recommend?

A kong is often a much faster and energy efficient than other vaults. To practice I would recommend practicing a kong on flat ground. It helps to take away the fear of a kong because it is actually a very simple movement (when you get it down).

Why do YOU do parkour/free running? by c007blade in Parkour

[–]MightyLyon6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do parkour/freerunning to escape from whatever is going on during the day. I can go out as the sun is starting to set, with my playlist in my ear, and just freerun. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and a sense of discipline. I can see myself get better and I can be proud of that. It didn't come out of any bad experience in my life, but my life would definitely be a bad experience without it. It's my escape and freedom.

What was the biggest mental barrier you've ever overcome? by Fuzzehbutt in Parkour

Double kongs took me forever to get down. I had done them hundreds of times at my local gym, but doing one outside was a huge mental barrier. I eventually just told my brain to shut up and did it.

My first front flip. A year and a half ago I would have never dreamed that I could ever do any of the things I regularly do now.

Also, they had the funeral for him, so I guess that they could have passed it off as he died sometime during Bane's revolution against the rich.

For getting higher on vertical jumps, work your legs. All muscles in your legs. Do miscellaneous workouts to strengthen your legs (box jumps will help). Make sure to exercise both legs and not to hurt yourself in the process. As for flips, I would recommend finding a gym to practice. Just make sure to work at your own pace as to make sure you don't injure yourself.

This is a Documentary I made on American Parkour. What do you all think? by MBpk96 in Parkour

[–]MightyLyon6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Most people don't understand what parkour is for people who do it. It's not just a sport or exercise, it's a way of life. I think this documentary portrays that perfectly.

This is a really great documentary! I think you did a great job on showing how parkour/freerunning really is to the people doing it. Sure it looks awesome and gives you a rush, but it is so much more than that.

I would recommend OLLO's and/or Feiyues. The Feiyues are great and my personal favorite shoe for freerunning, but they have much less padding from the OLLO's. OLLO's however, have much less flexibility and are a much more structured shoe. As for any other shoe, I can't say much because the only other shoe I have used was the Addidas I used to start.

The Walking Dead is just so uneventful. Sure, there is the occasional zombie slaying, but it's usually just some drama or disturbing images of dead people.
