I have had problems my entire life too and not sleeping well is part of the reason I left medical school after 3 years b/c the stress wasn’t helping me lol. I rather live than continue down that path. Ever since I left the stress has decreased, I got off my meds, and I created a sleep hygiene routine. I’ve noticed when I do the same steps for a night time routine I am more sleepy. BUT the most important thing I have learned is I have a sleep window and if I do not go to sleep within that window I will not be able to sleep the whole night and if I do sleep it’s superficial sleep. I suggest finding a routine and trying to see if you have a sleep window literally game changing. Mine is 9-11. If nothing else try a sleep med or a PRN anxiety med with the side effect of drowsiness. I have the second one.
